Ok j just want to first say i do have friends.

But none of my friends IRL love mma as much as I do. Most people i know at work etc in general are casual fans who only know chuck liddell or bj penn.

I can never have half an engaging discussion about mma as i can on sherdog.

Anybody else out there like this?

Ive never discussed anderson silva being 230lbs or gsp being boring or any of the common sherdog discussions to anyone IRL.

And dont get me started on meeting some just bleeders or noobs.

No one loves MMA as much as I do, that I know. I do however have two friends I consider non-casual MMA fans and know about ten casual MMA fans who will kick in on cards. That works for me.

Unfortunately, yes. My retarded friends just cannot come to grips with watching mma. I have tried and tried but they're too rooted in traditional sports such as football or baseball. Fucking damn shame.

I have several friends that I watch nearly every card with and we always talk about them later. Also I don't know where you live but in New Orleans I can go to a bar and almost always meet a few people that aren't talking out of their ass.

I don't have any friends online but sherdoggers know a lot more about mma than most of my friends I go to watch fights with

    Similar.

Basically my girlfriend is the only person who I watch MMA with. I actually kind of like it that way. She likes to watch but basically knows nothing about it.

50% of the cards i watch are at Buffalo wild wings or at a bar, and its usually nothing but idiots.

Lol that's just been my experience though.

Half my friends are big MMA fans....I work in nightlife, so pretty much most bouncers/security staff train or are mma fans.

Ditto. I do have one mate who likes the UFC a lot but not MMA, he hadn't even heard of Fedor at all when I mentioned him last year!

I have one friend who loves MMA as much as me, he started watching about 2 years ago but he has become a pretty big fan.

Most of the people I know don't know about it, most that do know about it are casual fans at best; the vast majority of great MMA conversations I have are on here. That said, there are a few people I know "irl" that I can talk with in depth about it.

Almost - I've got one mate I don't see much who's into it and another.

Not good mates though, although I am going to check with them in future to come watch a PPV or go to the bar.

Neither are as obsessed as me though.

I was at a party last night and none of the guys had even seen it. These are sports fans as well.

Know just enough people who watch religiously. Got my girl to be interested in it even though she is not super into it.

Maybe I've just been lucky. Although from what I understand New Orleans has one of the highest buy rates on average so maybe its just more popular here in general. Hell, Louisiana even had that shitty show on MTV about local fighters and how popular it is here, although from the one episode I watched they seemed completely fucking retarded.

I felt like that a lot when I was a teenager watching pride and none of my friends wanted to give it a chance cause they were doing typical teenage girl stuff.... but if you love something enough you end up making friends who love it, too, so hopefully you find a friend who is more than a casual fan sooner or later.

Start training and you'll find all the friends you make love MMA as much as you do, lol.
