I'm more than comfortable with my income, but more importantly i'm happy with the balance it has in my life.

I don't ever have to work full workdays, set my own schedule and travel to work from anywhere. Except no travelling for now.

I'm 32 and make about 30% more than the average swedish person.. which is still mediocre by american standards.. there are a lot of ceo's, doctors and high level managers banking 70-100k here and about 6% make a 100k or more..

I also grew up dirt poor so even though my income is ok i'm not even playing the same game as those who got their first appartment from their parents or got to inherit something..

I don't even see a path to making 100k+ from work.. the median salery for a specialist doctor here is around 90k.. sure, investments, property value etc can push you over those numbers but like a straight up job paying 100 000 or more flat is like a unicorn..

Jeeezus, even by socialized healthcare standards, that's absolute shit pay for a specialist

I get paid in 'likes'.

I spent most of mine...

  • How much do you get paid approximately per month/year ?
  • Is it enough to cover your needs ?
  • Do you think you should be paid more ?
Right now I'm existing on state and fed unemployment til July or so. Ask me again once I get a job...

  • bout tree fiddy
  • define needs?
  • sure

  • define needs?
  • require (something) because it is essential or very important rather than just desirable
  • circumstances in which something is necessary; necessity
  • a thing that is wanted or required

Plus you pay like 30 to 50 percent taxes from that trololololol

If its a progressive tax structure then its tiered remember? Only the highest brackets get taxed at that rate.

But yeah it may legit come out to 30% of your income

not sure about sweden but its near 50 in here if you break 100k

So if you make over 100k? Its 50%

So if you make 110k a year. The 10k over 100k is fully taxed at 50%. Which is 5k.

The money under 100k is taxed at the other tax brackets

I work in finance. After bonuses I make around $125K a year.

Even though I’m in a pretty expensive area it’s more than enough to cover my expenses since my wife makes just under 6 figures. We save a few grand every month.

The good thing about working in finance (or maybe bad depending on how you look at it) is that I have access to view everyone’s salaries in the company so naturally, I check my peers constantly. I’m right at the median amount for my position but considering my experience I’m probably slightly underpaid. Life is comfortable so no big deal.

I do ok. My income isn't a set amount but ranges from around 8-12k/month. I don't have kids, so it's good money, but I kind of wish I'd lived in a cheaper place for the last several years and just saved the difference instead of spending almost a year's pay on a place bigger than I need over that time.

Wife and I make over 100k per year combined. We both have government jobs that are secure, low stress, best benefits and great pension. Also because we work opposite shifts we don't have to pay for daycare (which is insane where I live) and I get to spend the mornings with my daughter which is priceless.

I've been out of work for 2 months because of this stupid COVID 19 shit. Hoping to be back to work early~mid June.

That being said, the wife and I would normally bring in 200k plus per year. Unfortunately, we also live in a really expensive place to live, so 200k isn't all it's cracked up to be. We do pretty well for ourselves though. Own 2 houses. Have 4 vehicles (2 teen/adult kids that drive 2 of them), and go on nice vacations every year.

Would I like more? Sure. But all in all I'm not unhappy with my current financial situation.

Yeah, we're looking for a house now.. but we're talking mid city or La Mesa. We really don't want to spend more than $500k. It's crazy to think that people that make much less than we do are buying $600-700k houses here.

WOW! Good luck finding a house in the Bay Area that cheap. Houses in the nice parts start at a mil or two and go up from there.
