Are you guys going to use TRT when you hit around 40?

lol no way brother, TRT is as far as id go, I almost got on clomid until I found out about the vision issues people had

Should also look into the moodiness/irritability side that more than a few face. It’s a running idea/joke that dudes on PCT who take clomid become whiny/irritable & moody, like a woman.

Some truth to that though, when lowering estrogen levels via a SERM or even AI, some are more susceptible to anxiety/irritability, depression/mood problems.

UFC fighters would use it because it was a loophole to roid. 99% of people do not need TRT.

I dont doubt it, when you tamper with your hormones you will get mood swings for sure. Its funny they used to say roid rage but they did studies when they put men on trt many of them they developed a calmer and more positive and energetic outlook but when the estrogen was high men were miserable, angry, and grumpy and tired.

This why they say Testosterone is the most powerful hormone.

The majority likely don't need it, but instead just need to get off their fat asses and do some physical work along with eating better.

Fuck no. I’ll be 39 in a couple months. I’m still doing Muay Thai a few times a week. If you just eat somewhat healthy, and exercise some, and don’t get super fat by the time you hit 35, you can still be active and in shape when you’re 40. TRT is for pussies.

Unless I had a medical condition and was diagnosed with low testosterone, no.

It's not like a healthy man gets to 40 and his test levels just vanish.
All of these responses.

People are obsessed nowadays in regards to their testosterone.
Sure, it's shitty if it's (too) low, but some people lose their mind over decreasing testosterone when you age to a point where they think you need to have the test levels of a 20 year old for the rest of your life in order to make life worth living.

So retarded.

I've been told my my former co-workers that have tried TRT and enjoyed it. Hell I might try it years down the road.

That isn't the case with me at all. In fact, no reputable medical professional would try to reproduce the T levels of a 20-year-old. That's why I'm only on 200 mg every two weeks. My levels just need a boost to be where they should be for a healthy man in my approximate age range.

I spent a couple of years trying to increase my low levels naturally via diet & exercise but it didn't do the trick. So, I opted to undergo TRT when I met my wife. Not that I needed it in order to have a decent sex life as I was quite capable of it. But at 54, I wanted to be able to perform on-demand more than once at a time. Plus I wanted to have more energy for both sex & my workouts. As well as just for life in general & TRT has been successful in all those things.

My libido seems to be increasing with age. Currently 26. There was a rapid spike of libido from 22 to now.

If I need TRT in the future, so be it. But I'd rather try to keep this natural progression going for as long as possible. Especially now that I'm medically cleared to lift again (kinda), and by next year should be able to fully lift and do MMA again.

Oh, wow. Doesn't your health insurance cover TRT? Mine does here in the States.

When I lived back in New Tork state I was referred to a urologist by my primary after a blood test revealed that my T levels were low. And the urologist was the one who handled my prescriptions for TRT with a three-month supply. Then I had to return for routine blood tests & a new prescription. When I moved to Arizona though, my primary began to handle everything that the urologist did in NY. Eliminating my co-pay of $40 for a specialist. So, I have no out of pocket expenses for TRT other than the $2 that I pay as my prescription co-pay for the testosterone itself.

You can claim it if you have a legitimate reason like injury or legitmate low test levels so you need referal from a doctor, however these dodgy clinics you don't need a referral from a GP, you can simply get a prescription from their own dodgy doctors to improve athletic performance.

maybe I figure trt will be better when im 40. my nutsack will be yuge.

Really? Well to my knowledge that's not legal anywhere here in the States. Although I'm sure that testosterone is available in some crazy large amounts over the border in Mexico.

And I'm sure that there are dodgy doctors here in the US who will prescribe TRT to individuals who have no legitimate need for it if one looks hard enough. But I wouldn't want to get mine through a source like that without all the follow up monitoring that I go through to make sure that it's not doing my body any harm.

26?!! Damn, son. It'll be a long time before you'll be needing TRT. Like I said earlier, I never even considered going on it until I was 54.

I'd love to know what my natural testosterone levels would be if I'd never fought for as long as I did. From what I understand there's pretty solid evidence that those who competed in combat sports long term tend to have low testosterone levels later on in their lives. Though I have no way of knowing if that's the case with me or not. One would assume that it would have something to do with the head trauma that fighters endure during the course of their careers but who knows? Other than the reconstructive surgery that I needed on my neck after retiring from the ring I don't have any other neurological issues related to my career.

There's no obvious distinction between 22 and 26 in terms of libido or strength. It was only near 40 for me where I noticed a difference.

Fair enough my friend.

I didn't mean to say everyone who gets on TRT tries to get to the levels of a 20 year old, but from what i've heard doctors have a lot of patients asking for it, despite not even needing it, which is more aching to what i was talking about.
If the doctors say "alright, i'll do it anyways!" (In a place where it's legal no matter the initial T-levels of the patient) then i can't stop people from doing it, but i think you really shouldn't get on TRT if it's not actually necessary and have a healthy, reasonable approach to it - just like you do, from what i can tell.

I'm not on TRT, so i don't have first hand experience, but as far as my knowledge goes, going on TRT is something one should really spend some time carefully and rationally thinking about before one does it, especially if it's higher than necessary doses.

There was for me haha. I feel like I hit a second puberty in my mid-twenties. Can't wait for the third lol.

Which is why I'm praying I don't need such a steep drop off in my 40s.

Oh, absolutely. I wouldn't recommend that anyone go on TRT unless it's needed & until after they've had a thorough exam & work-up by their doctors. And I think that going on doses that exceed what's needed is just foolish.

Peace.

Great minds think alike.
