I just deactivated my Facebook and Instagram, I realize I spend way too much time there looking at other people's life, time I could use working on myself. Besides people always portray a fake image of their life, everyone is happy and doing good, which it's far from reality.

I love Instagram. The app itself isn’t a waste of time, it just depends on how you use it.

I follow a lot of animal rescues, shelters, fosters, etc. They share a lot of knowledge which can come in handy. And sometimes when they need donations or items then I can send a little something to help out, as do many other people. So you can contribute in a way to a good cause.

Plus cute videos of animals is a good way to cheer yourself up.

Also a lot of my friends on Facebook are open about their struggles and mental illness. So there’s no fake happy shit.

No because im not a teenage girl.

Was for a while because my shit always got a lot of likes when I posted but now I'm over it. Only keep it for messenger

Nope. If I don't talk to you in person, then I don't give a fuck about your life.

(Nude models/porn stars are exempt from the previous statement)

Never had a Facebook account. Never had an Instagram account. I only signed up for Twitter for breaking news for MMA.

That's what I tell my friends: if I don't have your number, we're not that close to begin with. I don't have fb and instagram as well. Signed up for twitter after the 1st machida/shogun fight to give support(i think it was fernando alonso handling shogun's social media back then) after his "loss". Tweeted once and forgot all about it. I only have linkedin.

Nope. Been clean for several months. I can quit social media with no problem. Although when I was active I was on A LOT so one could easily perceive me as addicted.

I do enjoy having a medium to express my thoughts though so Sherdog sorta fills that void now.

Good for you! I only have Sherdog, I don't even have a facebook profile.

I definitely am. Trying to work on it though by deleting the IG and Snapchat app. Sometimes I catch myself scrolling and think to myself “what the f*ck am I looking for?!” and then close the app/browser.
It’s a trip because I’ve been thinking about stopping it all for at least a month and this will definitely help.

Thanks TS. I will report back next month.

Honestly, it's one of those things that if you stop using it for a little while, you completely stop missing it.

I deleted my facebook during the #deletefacebook movement. Not that I was shocked about any of the revelations. I knew they were dishonest snakes for years but I was always too lazy to delete my account. Plus it felt like it wouldn't matter. But when there was a ton of people deleting their facebook at the same time, I felt like it would have more impact, so I stopped being lazy and deleted that shit.

Never got into instagram.

Social media can be fun. Myspace was fun. Hell, forums aren't all that different and I'm addicted to sherdog. But facebook can go suck a dick, with that lying fucker in charge. He just keeps lying about what he does with your data, then just keeps apologizing for it until the heat dies down, then he does it again.... Check the video.

Instagram is good to follow certain peoples stories. Bit lame I know but ah well.

The rest are garbage.

Yes, obviously.

What do you think Sherdog is?

I think my main reason for taking a break is that I stalk girls I'm either interested in, I've already been with, dated etc. Out of sight, out of mind.

I used to vent angrily and make some dark jokes on Facebook. My family had a problem with it.

I argued with my Dad about something personal, but not through Facebook, and I ended up deleting Facebook for several months. We talked half a year later and I reactivated Facebook, the first thing I did being going through my timeline and deleting pretty much all of the posts that I made.

I rarely look at it nowadays, but I keep it because I have my New York and Isle of Wight photos in an album on there, and I use messenger. I never update and I very rarely respond to anybody.

Sherdog on the other hand...

Then again, I don’t consider myself to be addicted to Sherdog, but I am constantly bored without something to do...

I'm on sherdog, a biking forum and Facebook. I only have Facebook now for messenger and a private group for folks from my work that I have as there's updates on pay raises and stuff like that.

I got off several months earlier, maybe closer to a year, but I would have left then if I hadn't already. The Cambridge Analytica scandal was an intolerable transgression.

Yes, obviously.

What do you think Sherdog is?

Sherdog isn't social media. It's a forum. Plus, I'm not sociable here.

TS:
I don't use FB, Instagram, Twitter. So no, I don't give a flying ass about people life. If they want to meet up, they have my contact. If they don't bother Whatapping me to meet up, why should I care if their nieces/dogs made a funny face one Sunday morning?

I'd gladly delete if I had a p*ssy to fook.

But no... it will get only worse if I do it.
