I disagree with this statement. If you are punching (such as shadow boxing) and the weight are relatively low ( such as 2 or 3 lbs) It can actually be a big help for you in giving you the endurance to keep your arms up. The only thing I would caution against is throwing hard punches. DO NOT go tworads lockout with your punches but rather concentrate on using them to help your delts and not letting your arms drop. For this they have worked wonders for me. Good luck. They have caused no joint pain or problems for me and have actually helped me feel fresher and less tired in my training while sparring.

They are not good for your joints if you are thinking of wearing them for a day at a time.

I agree, once or twice a week I shadowbox with 3lb weights in my hands...just don't lockout. I'm assuming the same would be true for wrist and ankleweights

Precisely. That's why football players and sprinters use them.

weighted vests are fun. The only time I run is intervals with my girlfriend and she's kinda slow but I don't want to leave her behind for fear of her losing motivation. So I started wearing my weigthed vest to make it more... fair.

do not use ankle or wrist weights...

    ok, just don't use them...

think about why you wouldn't want to use them. think about the physics behind it...
