Are we actually witnessing a career resurgence from Jeremy Stephens?

Or is this just par for his career? I am pretty surprised that Stephens is finding himself in the spotlight right now and being discussed as a threat to the FW title. Stephens is kind of going the ol Bisping, and Lawler late career resurgence, but I have to really wonder if it is one? Stephens lost in early 2017 to Moicano right after losing to Edgar. He has been on multiple losing skids and even lost three straight then won three straight before losing to Swanson and Oliveira. There are people who literally didnt know who Stephens was when they were dangling from Conners nuts, and those same people are claiming he is the next big star now and hes found himself with a lot of hype even though he has been fighting under the UFC banner since 2007, 11 years now. The guy is a veteran of the UFC and has definitely been delivering in his last three outings against Melendez, Choi and now Emmett.. also got 2 FON and 1 PON awards during his last three. The fans really love finishes, and they love to get behind a guy who is always trying to finish. I am happy to see Stephens getting some much overdue love from the fans, it is pretty cool.. I am just wondering if we are going to see him get a TS, or is he going to go on another losing skid? Also interesting to see that he has only been KO'd once, lil heathen has a chin on him.. great durability for someone who fights with his style, especially considering that he has 18 KOs.

What think you Sherdog?

Lil Heathen title run, or is he about to run into some trouble?

I hope he can go further. He's about to head into some deep shark infested water, it will be tough.

His last 2 finishes were fucking brutal.

Conor burned him and he is now better for it since losing that weekend.

In before Conor bless and who da f...

No he'll always lose to the real sharks of the division. Swanson, Mendes, Ortega, Edgar, and Holloway.

I think Cub vs Stephens is the fight to make.

Choi & Emmett were overrated imo.

But maybe ?

Maybe. It's always great to see a fighter rise after falling. Jeremy Stephens at times lack fight IQ in my opinion and that has always been his weakness.

Maybe it's me, but "who da fook" was the first time I ever really paid much attention to Stephens. Seems to me like his career took off after that embarrassing moment.

Dude has power

Power is usually the last thing to go

I think any fighter is just a decent 3 fight win streak away from being touted as a dangerous contender.

And you never really know if people are right or not until a few fights later.

I hope so huge fan of his, I believe he should get his title shot.
If he has to wait Swanson vs Stephens would be very nice.

Too soon to tell. I think he is just benefitting from a change in the landscape.

Yeah things are look rather good for Stephens 3 wins a row all got him one of them 50k bonus

I dunno how you can go agaisnt him right now...he looks the most dedicated and currently in best form..hope he keeps it up tons of fun match ups..including holloway the champ

Choi and Emmett were both overrated, but Stephens is a savage and can knock out anyone. He rocked Frankie bad.

I don’t see him beating Holloway though.

he's like Bisping - loses to the higher tiered fighters.

except in a division more stacked. and he fought more higher tiered fighters than Bisping, so his record is a tad worse. and he has had more than 1 win against a higher ranked opponent.

but he does seem more comfortable and confident than ever before.

In Martial Arts in general, one gets better with age.. most who trained as kids, teens and young adults, tend to reach combatives prime in their 30's, and even some in their 40's. I predict, he will be fighting Emmett again in very near future.
