Are Usman and Colby any better than Koscheck and Fitch?

Kos/Fitch were on lengthy winning streaks before the GOAT shut them down

Both are more accomplished and better wrestlers than Usman and Colby

Koscheck had better striking than Usman and Colby

So has welterweight really gotten better? As far as I can see Usman is a poor man's version of Matt Hughes

It's nutty people like you that make the rest of us normal GSP fans look crazy

Even though I disagreed with you initially. While imagining the top guys from that era vs this I started thinking about all great fighters from back then only to realize a lot of them still fight successfully in the hw and LHW divisons. Mma evolution is very overstated

Usman is better than all 3 fighters you mentioned ts.

Usman>Fitch>Colby>Koscheck

I think this is fair based on what we currently have seen. Koscheck is actually my fav fighter of the lot. Liked him from Ultimate fighter days and he always put on good fighters.

Koscheck is clear step down from the other 3. He really couldn't beat the elite but could beat everyone else.

Fitch for a period was incredibly dominant in the UFC but struggled to finish fights. It is hard to compare with the different era's but for now Usman has done well, guess we will see how long that lasts.

Fitch would've gotten outstruck by both Usman and Colby, and couldn't have implemented his LnP. Koscheck is simply worse in every department, except for power punching. Lay down the crack pipe.

Usman is better than them and I think Prime GSP and Usman would have a really close fight that could go either way due to the stylistic matchup. With Colby I don't know, I'm just not convinced he beats Burns, Edwards, or Wonderboy. With Masvidal, I feel like it could be a close fight tbh.

If you look through their records, most of the guys they have beaten, and every notable opponent they have fought have been of the previous generation.

Usman's last 5 fights
Masvidal (W)
Colby (W)
Woodley (W)
RDA (W)
Demian Maia (W)

Colby's last 5 fights
Woodley (W)
Usman (L)
Lawler (W)
RDA (W)
Demian Maia (W)
