Are there some of you into handball ? Maybe some of us europeans will foolow the world cup (I particulary thinking about swedes, german and eastern europeans) and maybe some americans wants to know a little more about this amazingly fun sport !

World cup in qatar start now a 6:40 PM Europe Time with the game between Qatar and Brazil.

I think France its the favorite alongside with some scandinavians and balkans country.

On topic, I've always had fun the few times I played handball. That said, I am not itching to watch it. Seems like it may be a little boring, but different strokes for different folks yanaimean, brah?

No Indeed, French is.

Handball fun to play, fun to watch IMO. Probably the most "quick-paced" ball game after BasketBall for me.

For the first game, the contest between two low-ranked team Qatar and Brazil give us a fun scrap giving the victory to the Host of the competition by a 5 goals margin with a final result of 28-23.
Bosnian Descent goalkeeper from Qatar Daniel Savic was the man of the match with more than 15 stops.

10 games tomorrow !

What's your expectations for the Danish team for this tournament ?

Mikkel Hansen used to be(is?) the best handball player on the planet !!

I enjoy watching the World, EU and Olympic championships, but other than that, I wouldn't call myself a big follower. Still, I do pay close attention when watch it.

That being said, I think Denmark has a decent shot, but it's too early to tell. Also, I believe this is the first big tournament with the new coach after Wilbeck(ATG trainer) left, so there is that.

Mikkel Hansen is still one of the best in the world, if not THE best, no worries :D

What I like about Handball is it's a proper physical sport. What I mean by that, they don't fall like they were shot, like some Football players. They are allowed to push, shove and use force, unlike Basketball and they set a constant high pace, with nonstop action, unlike the NFL. It's always entertaining watching Handball and they are skilled as hell. Big guys too.

Danmark play VS Argentina tomorrow at 7 I think its a walk in the park for them in a "easy" group....They will fight with germany for the 1st place but Saudi, russia, poland and argentina are just sparring partners IMO.

I agree with you on the physical aspect of the sport and also its very fun, the rythme never stop you can also have a lot of suspense going if the score is Tie with just fews seconds to go(Like in the NBA).
And also as a pretty confidential sport, you don't have any douchebags in the bar or at work bragging nonsense about it like they do here for football(soccer) and rugby.
You only speak with speccialist and afficionados.

What are your credentials as a team handball player!? I give Jarryd Hayne a better chance of being an NFL player than you being a pro handball player, unless you provide some credentials.

Yeah, if this guy is such a great team handball player and handball is so easy to play how come he did not field a Canadian team for the handball world cup!
