Frequently Asked Question:

NHB7, why don't you rather than put five people asking yes or no, put 10 people and just say vote for the on you think is a legend?

Answer: Because of the way Sherdog polls work. Let me provide those interested with an example. Imagine I had a poll and all it asked was Do you think either of these fighters are legends? And I listed two people. One person was Gina Carano and the other person was Matt Mitrione. Now If I just listed there names and said, "Vote for them if you think they are legends and just don't vote if you don't think they are legends" here is what might happen. 100 people might enter the thread and of those 100 people 6 people vote because 6 people believe that both Carano and Mitrione are legends. But the poll doesn't count those people who came in and said, "No, they aren't legends, so I won't vote." So what ends up happening is the final conclusion of the poll is "Out of 6 votes, 6 people agree that Gina and Matt are legends. In other words, 100% of people believe Matt and Gina are legends." When in reality, only 6% of people believe that they are legends. So the only way to get to that number is to provide those people that believe they are not a legend to also have a vote. In other words, 6 people vote they are, and 94 people vote that they are not.

No on Jeremy Horn
Yes on Kazuo, but just barely making the grade in my book.
Yes on Kid, perhaps the biggest legend of these 5 options.
No on Kimo
Yes on Kiyoshi.

I picked all the Japanese guys! I swear its not a Japanese bias, this just happens to be a poll of some of the greatest!

Jeremy Horn is legendary for fighting everyone and is very respected.

Horn yes. Kid unfortunately got derailed by injuries. Misaki is borderline. Leopold lol. KT's head should be a legend for all the beatings it's taken.

Horn is a legend no doubt. He went ninety-odd fights before his first KO loss. Subbed Chuck. Went three rounds with Anderson. Took Chael's soul. Fought anyone, anytime, anywhere.

I see a lot of votes for Kid, tell me why he's a legend.

I've got him similar to a Tito Ortiz or a Ken Shamrock. Their actual in-the-cage/ring resumes don't hold up that well to scrutiny, especially in hindsight, but all three basically single-handedly propped up a major MMA promotion for a while, and more importantly, all three were superstars with legitimate crossover appeal and undoubtedly the inspiration for countless young fighters to get into the sport. I'd also give Kid a bit of a nod for, along with BJ Penn, being a pioneer in beating up guys with elite skills way bigger than him. He's probably still one of the all-time P4P GOATs, thought we'll never know for sure because that injury took him out just when his weight class was starting to become a fixture.

Jeremy Horn should be a legend. He was much more than just some guy that fought a lot.

Trying to get at least 100 votes on each poll

trying to get 100 votes, or 100 polls?

here's the thing:

I don't think in 20 yrs you can have a legend a year. so if you were a bit more selective it would be great.

enjoy participating in the polls, and I am to try and keep these fighters in perspective as they fought in my fave era.

but 90% of them aren't legends.

Kid and Horn

Kid was a guy who was dominating 155ers while being a natural 135er. He had no legitimate losses until Joe Warren how many years into his career. Horn fought a who's who, had a retarded number of fights, and had a legendary chin.

not really, no.

what 3 "legendaryf fights" do you recall that he was in?

Only said yes to Kid on this one, but roughly.
