Are there any fans with the experience of getting beaten up badly like (some) MMA fighters?

    How did it feel like?

Do you think you have a different kind of respect towards MMA fighters because of your experience?

I boxed for 25 years. I've had my bell rang pretty good. That part I can relate to.

My dad used to come home drunk and put a belt, a stick and a wrench on the table and just say "choose"

I chose the wrench cause fuck him.

I've been KOd before. Via falling into a table, lol

Other than that, I got obliterated in a bjj tournament which was eye opening.

in training, not on the street. You have bad days that make you want to quit training, get embarassed in front of your mates, dissapoint your teacher etc. Dealing with that on a level when the whole world is watching is worse. Imagine having the footage constantly shown. No one takes that well. No one wants to see themselves knocked out. Ive known pro boxers i trained with who cant even talk about being knocked out.

I'm 0-4 in street fights and have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to losing fights.

Win or lose I have the upmost respect for these guys.

I've been jumped plenty of times, even hospitalized, the mental side of it is much worse than the pain.
