Can any Brazilian posters tell me how you watch ppv's? I cant imagine them being $60 over there. Thanks
Pretty sure UFC 190 is being transmitted for free on Globo, events that have aired on free TV in the past usually do well over 10 million viewers iirc. They're not usually free though. They costy around R$90(~27) or you can buy a subscription to the Combate channel on cable and get access to all PPVs.
When I was in Brazil last summer I watched Weidman vs Machida, only the one fight was shown, or maybe the Ronda/Davis fight was too, saw the highlight for it after. It was free on Globo and it wasn't live but shown directly after it happened I think
You pay around 30 bucks per month, or 25 just for one event... but mainly ufc fights, for example, toquinho and shields are impossible to watch. the mains fights in the ufc - when brazilians are fighiting for the belt - are normally show for free but after it happened...kind of confuse
There is a channel called "Combate", you pay 50 reais every month and get live access to all UFC events, ppv or not. Some fights are broadcasted by Globo, free TV channel, but with a delay of 1 hour, like today.
Also heard that they pay 30 a month for globo or combate(cant remember).. get basically all combat sports on that channel... But us in the us... we get fucked in the ass.. have to pay 50 a pop... we getting fucked yo!
brazil is poor bro no one would buy for 60$ as some people said, its like 60 reais (like 20 dollars. a bit less) monthly and you get all the ufc events in that month
USD is like 3.5 brazilian currency now. Pretty expensive for one PPV. Better to sign up for combate, pay 30 USD per month and get all UFC events and Brazilian promotions events. Globo [free tv] shows one to three events per year, but only the main and co-main and mostly with delay. Since this is TUF final, Globo will also broadcast the finals.
yes you can sign combate for $20~30ish, but to be able to you need to be subscribed to cable tv, sattelite tv or something similar which cost at the minimum around another $30. to access a more complete programming guide you will pay at least $60 plus the $30ish to get combate.
