Do you all think that abortions are largely a result of guys pulling out too late? Both the man and the woman wanted to avoid pregnancy, but pulling out too late was the culprit.

Or maybe guys just bust inside the woman, and neither they nor the woman care, because they know abortions are available.

It could also be that the woman is on the pill but is very careless about taking it every day.

This is all conjecture of course because we don’t know what’s going on in people’s bedrooms, but what’s your best guess?

Most pregnancy is a man busting inside a woman with little conscious "we're doing this to make a baby" thoughts. It's two people fucking with a common end result.

People would continue fucking, as they have since the beginning of time, regardless of abortion availability.

Further, nobody likes abortions, it's just the less distressing and shorter lived problem as opposed to raising a hypothetical child for decades.

Most birth control methods are ~98% effective over a year's period. In other words, 2% of women taking it per year will become pregnant anyway. About 50M women are currently taking birth control at any given time in the US, therefore if all of them were sexually active that means 1M of them would become pregnant by year's end despite taking it. So 1M unwanted pregnancies in 2023, 1M in 2024, 1M in 2025, etc, just from the birth control's normal failure rate. Since not all of them will be sexually active, you're probably looking at ~750K/year. That's a shit ton of people. The myth that it can only be the result of recklessness is stupid.

I had no idea. That’s actually very interesting.

Abortion gets used as birth control, it is sad.

Yes, most abortions are the result of unprotected sex. How else would they happen?

Where u coming up with 50 million talking birth control?

There's 160 million woman in the US total. So what's that 35 million women in the age group that would ever use it....say 15 to 45. A percentage of them aren't having sex. A percentage of them don't need to take it because their SO is snipped. I think your numbers are way off.

Of course. Obviously there are exception but of course. People use it as birth control.

Pulling out in time also isn't a guarantee that you won't get pregnant. There is sperm in your precum as well and I think people are mostly ignorant to that. You don't need to ejaculate to make a gal pregnant.

~72 million women age 15 → 49 with ~65% using contraception (although elsewhere in it they say 8% is condoms so depends if you want to count that or not as "women taking birth control").

What else could it be? Planned to have a kid but changed mind after pregnant?

98% is just people acting irresponsible. Mostly because they know worst case they'll just have the baby blended up by some ghoul.

Trailer trash girl says she’s on the pill but really isn’t. Gets knocked up to try to use it as leverage to get married to her equally trailer trash bf. He doesn’t want anything to do with it so he dumps her and splits town. She then decides to abort

A lot of miscarriages get counted into abortion numbers.

I think today's young women are hardly making anyone use condoms anymore. I was listening to a podcast this morning where women were talking about after sex etiquette. How the guy should get up and get a towel after pulling out and where the women ask them to finish. Not even a question of condoms. I think we all know it's unprotected sex causing the majority. Throw in some rape, and some birth control error (forgetting to take the pill, broken condoms etc) and that is probably less than 10%.

I’m not done until they sound like an oceans ride when they walk

Careless, unprotected sex would lead to less abortions if done anally.

I think we can say most pregnancies are the result of unprotected sex. Abortions can happen for a variety of reasons: severe birth defects, various risks to the mother’s health, ectopic pregnancies, partial miscarriages, not wanting a child due to economic reasons, all sorts of stuff.

I always find it interesting that the same people who oppose a woman’s right to choose also generally oppose comprehensive sex ed, condoms being available in schools, nutritional assistance programs for children like SNAP or WIC, and things like that.

There are people that like them... unhinged psychotic scum but never the less
