Are martial arts like Akido banned from MMA because they are too effective?

How can we believe the UFC has the greatest and most badass fighters in the world when masters in joint manipulation can make anyone fall to their knees crying for mercy?

Aikido is too lethal, it can only be utilized legally in direct-to-video b-movies.

If Aikido worked it would be called Aidontkido

Tai chi can produce giant tornadoes of mass destruction and shit, so yes. I know this from things like the "Wind and Cloud" comics and xianxia webnovels.

the UFC is afraid of Seagal

Guy's trolling but they didn't ban small joint manipulation because it doesn't work. It does work and it works too well to be allowed.

Other than that, lots of martial arts have been somewhat banned. Lots of Chinese martial arts incorporate nut shots, eye gouges, throat strikes, etc. By restricting allowed strikes to kickboxing, they effectively banned lots of TMAs.

Call me crazy but I think that chain punching would work a lot better with periodic crippling strikes thrown into the combinations. The entire reason it seems like bullshit is because it doesn't have any 'power strikes' or anything to end fights. So, guys just don't respect the power and walk through strikes. It would be really, really easy to mix in some fight ending banned strikes into chain punching. Eye raking and stuff just kind of naturally fit into that fighting range.

The mats instead of concrete, no headbutts, no knees on the ground, no spikes or slams to the head, etc. all greatly reduce the effectiveness of wrestling as well.

Bruce Lee's favorite moves were eye gouge and kicks to the kneecap. He also recommended biting. This is a real fight here. Not some pillow fight where people cry for getting poked in the eye. That is not real fighting.

So learn to defend it? We use aikido style wrist locks all the time rolling and yes I know they work. They hurt like hell but you have to know how to properly isolate. You get caught much less when you learn what gets you caught.

A Jon Jones fan thinking eye-pokes have a place in a "real fight".
I'm not surprised, lol.

Eye-pokes have nothing to do with "real" fighting, you can do that when you're fighting to death but not in a competitive fight.

You mean in a pussy fight where a ref is there to save your ass and make sure things don't get out of control. That isn't real life. It is like self defense class. None of that shit works irl.
