Chris Weidman 10-0 with his latest victory over Anderson Silva by knocking him out in the 2nd round. Has only been controlled by an opponent for no longer than 3 seconds. 4 years of experience in MMA.

Jon Jones 19-1 with his only "loss" coming by DQ, he's been dominating LHW with ease and has yet to even get rocked or seriously hurt in a fight. Completely destroyed an all-time legend with ease in Mauricio Rua. Only has 5 years of experience in MMA.

Is this kind of talent too good to be true? I mean... they've virtually looked unbeatable, even Jones. He showed a ridiculous amount of heart against Gus and rallied back to win the fight.

Weidman knocked out Anderson Silva on the feet, whilst taking barely any damage.

Are these guys too good? Will they end up losing and NOT end up all-time greats as we all think they will? Or are they truly a new breed of skill and athleticism in MMA?

Jones looked pretty human against Gustafsson. Weidman looked pretty human against Maia. Both are great fighters, but they're not infallible.

No.

Everyone is beatable.

Jones' reign is soon to be over, if not now at LHW then for sure at HW, and Weidman has been untested. Vitor is going to be a very tough fight for Weidman.

Jon's siblings are in the NFL meanwhile Bones is killing it in MMA.. crazy genetics those guys have. As for Weidman I think he won mainly because of his determination and everything to gain/everything to lose mindset regardless he is definitely skillful and has some nasty BJJ for someone who only had a year of training. Bones was tested in his fight against Gus and showcased real heart. Personally I don't think Weidman would last in a fight similar to that of Bones vs Gus.

calm down...
the only real challenge for jj was against machida and gus
weidman is very a young champion to judge...

should really include their years wrestling when tabulating how long they have been training... even if its distinct from MMA

Weidmans getting TKO/KOed by Silva tonight and Jones will lose when he faces Cormier or Velasquez if/when he moves up.

what?? lol how does Weidman belong in that conversation being 10 fights into his career n his only credible opponent being a 38 year old clowning silva? lets wait to see how he hangs with all the big dogs first I personally feel, jacare, Machida, vitor all run thru him, personal opinion of course

Youre going to be removing Chris Weidman from that sentence later tonight

Jones seems too good to be true. Weidman, maybe to soon to say.

Both guys are amazing talents though.

Weidman, may not even make it out of tonight's fight man, cart and horse or something like that.

Ive been watching and following MMA since the Brock crossover of the 20 and 08 and Jon Jones is the best mix martial artist I have ever witnessed. Ransacked the division and challenged for a belt and took down the old guard LHW GOAT in 3 years and has rampaged the division since then, taking down legends of the sport and flavor of the month challenges as they arrive looking for a new white hope. Weidman is well on his way but is at least 2 years behind Jones level of excellence, hoping he gets near that level though.

We're putting Weidman in the same light as JBJ already...? Wow.

Jones has cleared out a generation full of legendary fighters before his 24 bday . Outclassing them and making them look like they should retire .Chris would have to stop a lot of beast who are on a career resurgence not to mention the greatest active fighter in the ufc

Jones looked pretty human against Gustafsson. Weidman looked pretty human against Maia. Both are great fighters, but they're not infallible.

Beating and out-grappling a former title contender who's also one of the best grapplers in MMA after cutting 32 lbs in 10 days is to 'look pretty Human' now?
