Or not? Im drunk and rambling starting now but way i see it, if you have a shitty chin and are in top 10 theres a good chance you're better in most ways than the rest.

extreme example: Overeem and Roy Nelson. Nelson can get hit by a fucking train and it wouldn't KO him. What that translates to is he can make 1million mistakes and be sloppy as hell and thats ok because if he eats an unnecessary shot he will just keep coming. Reem on the otherhand can(and will) dominate the fight in every area from start to finish but 1 gust of wind or a stray punch lands and its over. Yet he ko'd JDS because not 1 punch landed flush. The guy is so skilled he fought and finished JDS without being hit. People with weak chins have to outclass their opponent in every way shape or form because 1 mistake=a loss, not only do they have to win, they have to do it while being untouchable or they lose. But they stay in top 10 anyway.

If it were reversed and Nelson had Reems chin....Nelson would have 0 wins in the UFC and so would a lot of fighters who rely on their chin. Even Mark Hunt. If Werdum had Reems chin he wouldnt even be champ or have survived the Fedor fight.

Am i stupid?

Roy Nelson doesn't make a million mistakes because of his granite chin, he does it because he's not that good.

how can they be great fighters? A glass chin fighter can be a good fighter, not a great fighter. Look at bisping , bisping is a good fighter that is always going to be one step behind because of his glass chin.

Probably yes. When a fighter like Reem can do all the things he has done when it only takes a good punch to beat him, this says a lot of how great he is. Besides his chin, he has anything and is great in at least 2 things.

That's why I always said, if Reem had a chin no one could beat him.

or maybe some of these "weak chinned fighters" just have many more fights over a much longer period of time. this leads to an increase in skill and timing while decreasing the ability to take a punch.

Maybe fighters with a weak chin are great teachers/tacticians.

But to be a great fighter--no matter the context--you gotta be able to take it as well as you give it.

Yep, I have been saying that for months that Overeem is just crazy good to win all these fights with having such a chin.

And that many of the greats would go down like sack of potatoes, Anderson included, if they had Overeem's chin.
But the thing is, as much as I don't like it, great chin is a part of being a great fighter.

I really don't like the ping at all but exactly how many times has he been koed to lead you to saying he has a glass chin?

Even Sonnen would beat Anderson. Crazy.

Um,

The Diaz Bros, Robbie Lawler, Frankie Edgar, Donald Cerrone, JDS, Mark Hunt, Jon Jones, GSP, MM, Wand etc... all have great chins

No. You are not a better fighter. You may be more skilled. Having a good chin is part of being a good fighter. Same as KO power. Some people may be more skilled but that doesn't mean they are a better fighter.

And didnt i use Reem shitting on JDS in my example? Cain doesn't have a good chin and i dont like him but was champ for a minute.

Mark Hunt is another great example, he has a great chin but he got subbed by MW mousasi, insta subbed in 2 seconds by Reem, better chin than Fedor maybe but subbed by him too.

He has the chin and KO power like every hw....but thats all he has.

Hendo, Vitor, Rockhold come to mind and he barely survived Anderson's front kick

Bisping isn't a good example of a glass chin. Those were huge shots he took that would KO many people. Cmon that Hbomb and vitor headkick would have layed out Jon Jones.

styles make fights and physical ability is part of style, or it should be, if you are smart.. fighters with bad chins or good chins generally know what they can handle and gameplan accordingly.

Although I think Bisping has a suspect chin the guys you listed are ridiculous. Hendo? Rockhold? Vitor? Anderson? Literally 3 of the most lethal strikers in history.

Ya, but i think thats the point.

If youvemade it to the top of the fight game with a shitty chin, it means you are really good at not getting hit - and likely skilled enough to get finishes or go three rounds without getting hit clean.

I like it, TS
