This guys getting sh!t on for not stopping the fight in the first and second round. Because he gave both guys s chance to fight out of it, we actually got to see who the better fighter was. Yes I could've been stopped in the first and especially in the second but doctor or corner could've also stopped it between rounds. He let it go to the third, had warned hector that he needs to not get into that situation again and called the fight as soon as he saw a repeat of the 2nd.

Give this guy his due. Did a good job IMO. No controversy on who the better banger was.
 
I thought he gave Lombard the same chance he gave magny then told him at the start of the third you better defend better.
 
Lombard hit Magny in the back of the head like 20 times, he warned 3 times, but did nothing. Lombard kept jamming his thumb in Magny's eye and mouth and the only thing he said was "watch your thumb now." Letting things go is fine but there are rules for a reason. The guy is a total shitstorm of a referee.

Magny was ducking his head away every time a punch was thrown which resulted in a punch landing to the back. What you expect hector to do, stop punching. Well ref'd fight.

When he was on his back, yes, but when Magny was on all fours Lombard was litteraly hammerfisting the back of his head on purpose a few times.

Looked to me like Lombard was out then got hit a few times and woke up. Magny was getting dropped but at least defending himself. The first may have been stopped by a more gun shy ref but that is a good example of why you want to let them fight. It was obvious Hector was done going into the second round; when you are that tired, and the other guy is that fresh, your royally fucked.

It was so surreal to see super alpha stud Lombard beat like that tho. This sport is nuts; one day you are the king of the jungle, invincible, a super hero. And the next day you are getting butt raped in front of your family with your kids screaming in horror as mommy tries to comfort them. Then your Dad grabs the mic and says "he's still my boy!!!!" (WTF??!!)

I didn't really see that. I saw hector hammerfisting but every time he tried to throw to the side of the head, Magny would turn away. I gotta watch it again. It happened pretty fast.
 
Outstanding job by Percival. The MMA world really needs an education in what a proper stoppage is and what damage really consists of.

at the very least, percivals decisions were borderline. the judging was not even close.
