He talked about it on the MMA hour. He never specified what it was but it did have to do with his eye and it was a serious injury.

toothpick popped through the roof of his mouth and poked his eye.

Just kidding.... How did you do that

Prognosis for Boxers and Non-Pugilists
With proper treatment, the prognosis is excellent. More than 90% of detached retinas can be reattached successfully. In some cases, more than one treatment is necessary. Vision is most likely to return to near normal if the problem is treated less than seven days after the detachment begins. Some blurring of vision may remain in people who have detachments that involve the macula (central vision).

Based on the location and extent of his/her injury, a modern-day boxer can usually make a successful return to the ring if their detached retina is treated promptly and corrective surgery is successful - Nevertheless, a healthy return is still no guarantee.

For fighters, even with a full recovery, a second detached retina in the same eye may be more likely, and the fighter is also at a higher risk of future eye problems such as cataracts.

I hope there are no long term effects. Only time will tell.

Maybe this will shut up anyone saying Benson ducked Johnson.

Its not that serious of an injury if treated as soon as it happens, there's a pretty high chance of 100% recovery.

Isnt that the Bisping injury? I've heard about this type of injury but i've never fully understood it. Don't tell me Bendo will have a effed up eye for the rest of his life

I think he will be fine as long as he stays away from Bisping's doctor.

Damn that sucks. Hope he gets better soon. He got me interested in him again after dominating Thatch. Ground game Bendo > TKD Bendo.

Hope it's not too severe. That's what essentially ended Alan Belcher's career.
