Appalled with Calzaghe farce...

The Calzaghe Vs RJJ fight was a farce... RJJ in his prime stops Calzaghe without a doubt. I found it insulting that Calzaghe would stick his face into RJJ's guard and dance around like a d*ck, and all it proved was how passed it RJJ is now, not how great Calzaghe is. This fight was sh*t to watch and meant nothing...

And this is coming from a massive Calzaghe fan who has made several journeys to Wales & Manchester to watch him fight.
 
I think Cal looked like a bit of a dick while attempting to showboat. But no more of a dick than Jones has looked over the years.

Highlights of the fight come from setanta Slow mo replays.

Cal taking an uppercut and his big rubbery nose stretching over the glove.

And Jones taking a punch over the eye that immediately splits the skin and his ears wobble from the force.

Mate you're talking bullshit. Calzaghe and RJJ have showboated in the ring through their entire careers. In the first two rounds when Jones was doing well he was showboating. It was entertaining and made the fight more exciting. I don't see it as he was degrading Jones, you could see the respect between the two as they met before the 12th round. People are just hurt right now because they were hoping to see Jones win, all the Calzaghe hate is a little pathetic.

The fight was shit to watch? Well that's your opinion, everyone I've spoke to about it said it was a great fight.

Great performance by Calzaghe and to say 'RJJ in his primestops Calzaghe without a doubt' is foolish... Calzaghe has never been stopped. Jones I believe, like most people, would beat Calzaghe prime vs prime. He was phenomenal but, so is Calzaghe. I don't think it would be completely one way but I'd expect Jones to get the win.
 
By the way, this fight was not shit to watch, infact i though it was fucking brilliant.

I swear people don't read... I said i am a massive Calzaghe fan, I went to the Lacy fight, Kessler fight and the Robin Reid fight years ago. I know all about his styel and how he fights, but I feel this was a nothing fight that didnt prove anything other than RJJ is as over-the-hill as people thought when Tarver & Glen Johnson KO'd him.
I'm not upset with the showboating, thats cool... But the amount he was doing it and what he was doing showed he had little fear of RJJ, and no way would that of been the case 10 years ago.
Everyone knows RJJ is finished and has been since Tarver KO'd him then Glen Johnson did the same. Sorry but beating Prince Badi Ajamu, Anthony Hanshaw & Tito all on points doesn't say to me that he had resurrected his career...
I just don't enjoy watching someone cover up for 10 rounds while someone else sticks their face out and then does 19 punch combos that have little effect.

You say people don't read but you've said you were 'appalled' at Calzaghe and that you 'found it insulting that Calzaghe would stick his face into RJJ's guard and dance around like a d*ck' then you say you're 'not upset with the showboating, thats cool'... so which is it?

Without a doubt? That comment makes no sense at all. If Calzaghe had fought Jones in his "prime" then anything could have happened. To say that he would almost certainly stop him is one thing but there is always going to be doubt. If Tyson had fought Lewis in his prime... If Calzaghe had fought Hopkins earlier in his career....Blah Blah Blah.

They fought now and Joe Calzaghe won, deal with it.
 
Jones did it his whole career. So did Ali, Sugar Ray, Hearns, PBF, I have no issue with it.

At the time it was like here you are fighting a guy well under your level. And you're going to clown him and try to make him look like a complete fool?

I don't feel bad for Calzaghe clowning Jones.

What do you expect? Joe to let RJJ win?...Joe always does this to oponents.

Fact is American fighters other than PFB cant hold a candle to Europeans.

He was bating RJJ to strike because all he was doing was covering up...fighting scared.

All these RJJ nuthuggers said Joe was going to get Knocked out...and when RJJ loses they say its because he is washed up,youl ot are so predicatable.

RJJ said in his corner...'I cant hit him'...

Joe is to quick and to good for any American fighter HIS AGE.

You also have to bare in mind that Joe is a shadow of his former self compared to 6 years ago...has to busted up hands to the point were he no longer posses any knock out power at all. (he won 29 of his first 30 fights by KO/TKO nowadasy its just decisions as he has no power..just speed.

RJJ list of victims is no better than Joes Calzaghes...
RJJ has held more titles (just)....beating bum champions..
RJJ refuses to fight outside of America...Calzaghe has 3 fights outside of UK and about 20 fights in England,outside of his home country.

There really is no point bashing Calzaghe,he is and always has been simply better.

If he was American not only would he be very rich but he would be a massive legend far surpassing RJJ.

Also why the fuck do all Americans call him 'Cal' its Super Joe or Joe....shall us English start calling RJJ 'jonesy'?

well it seemed to work for him because roy couldn't get a shot in,calzaghe out classed him in every single way
