Anything said about Machida at the weigh ins?

I saw a thread at the time of the weigh ins that it appeared that Machida was in some sort of pain or discomfort just as the weigh ins were going on.
A picture and videos of him surfaced where he looked in pain.

Was anything said in the post fight press conference regarding any nagging injuries or issues prior to the fight?

Could this be why he looked so off in the fight? Even before he got his bell rung?

if it did, it would be dismissed as being Brazilian

Machida looked on point in the exchanges like usual to start before going down and eating all those shots. It's fighting... one mistake and it can go downhill rather quickly.

Yeah he was looking slick standing and Rockhold looked like he might start to get frustrated. Just so weird seeing Machida get dominated so thoroughly on the ground lik ethat.

Somebody did a comparison of his more recent weigh ins and he grimaced/winced in all of them. Maybe it's a long term thing?

This seemed different to his normal face.

It looked like he had a dodgy shoulder when he took his top off.

It looked weird to me as well but this was vs CB, from twitter:

I suspect a shoulder injury and his ground game is not that sharp compared to elite grapplers to begin with. His stand up is usually so good he probably doesn't polish his ground game as much.

Its not anything serious. He's just feeling the aftertaste of urine in his mouth

love machida. will always be a fan. sad that luke beat him.

but he got beat.

no need to look for excuses.

There shouldn't any excuses for his ground defense being so poor. He let Rockhold pass and mount him so easily. Despite the unfortunate slip, he should have been able to maintain guard or pop back up to his feet. He needs to learn from this. I see them giving him Bisping, he will win and get a little confidence back. And after watching this, there is little doubt that Jacare would be a nightmare matchup for Machida.

I agree. His grappling used to look much better as well.

But he is not getting any younger. Maybe his age is catching up. And taking this amout of damage certainly does not help. Bisping would be a great fight though. They are in similar positions right now as well.

In hindsight, weird that no one ever noticed or pointed it out.

I don't think this was a 'grimace' at all, or any indication of a 'dodgy' shoulder, this just looks like any other freeze-framed pic... haven't you ever paused a video and got the weirdest looks on people's faces?

Pause any video at the right moment and it can look weird

It looked like a grimace to me. Not sure if there is some pain causing him to do it or if it's just a habit or something.

Besides the gif shows that it was definitely a grimace at the last weigh in.
