An hour and 42 minutes?
This changes everything.
i need cliffs and one liners, i live my life a quarter mile at a time
I listen to a longer version of this by Dr. Wayne Dyer. I'm on my third listen, but I'm currently doing a different audio book.
9 hrs? I feel like I need a motivational video to prepare me for this motivational video
Stephen Mitchell’s is my favorite translation it’s more Direct and powerful than Thomas Cleary’s.
That said I’m more familiar with Cleary's other Taoist translations such as Secret of the Golden Flower.
In dwelling, live close to the ground,
In thinking, keep to the simple,
In conflict, be fair and generous,
In governing, don’t try to control,
In work, do what you enjoy,
In family life, be completely present.
When you are content to be simply yourself,
and don’t compare or compete,
everybody will respect you.
Hope and fear are both phantoms
that arise from thinking of the self.
When we don’t see the self as self,
what do we have to fear?
Do you have the patience to wait
till your mud settles and the water is clear?
Can you remain unmoving
till the right action arises by itself?
Knowing others is intelligence;
knowing yourself is true wisdom.
Mastering others is strength;
mastering yourself is true power.
GTFO of here with all that Ching Chong Chang shit.
from my upcoming novella "Ancient Sherdog Haikus"..
till death do we part
for what is life, if not art?
'poof', gone like a fart
(this haiku was inspired by a picture of a nail salon's neon light advertisement sign, that had a shit ton of dead flies it attracted - gathered & piling up)
It's totally worth it.
Now I'm glad I clicked on this thread.
