Anyone who thinks El Cucuy's stock went down after the Vanatta fight is crazy

All it proved to me was that Ferguson is even more of a beast than I thought.

Proved he's a got a chin and great recuperative powers.

I loved Lando's fight and he deserves all the props he's getting but Ferguson deserves more credit for that win, especially finishing him like that.

It's not like Vanatta is some bum. All the word was that he was more than ready for the UFC, so it makes Ferguson's finish pretty impressive IMO.

I wasn't impressed. To me it seemed like he won't be able to handle top level competition

I'll admit I don't know much about Vanatta. We'll see how good this win is, depending on what type of career Vanatta ends up having in the UFC.

I don't care about who's stock went up or down. I just really enjoyed that fight.

Ferguson is the uncrowned champ. He chokes Khabib in championship rounds and finishes RDA and Alvarez by strikes.

Hell of an approach. Sometimes we worry so much about PPV numbers, stocks, rankings, yadda yadda, and forget how good it is to enjoy the brilliant art of two men punching each other in the face.

It didn't go up, but I appreciate his carelessness on taking his opposition lightly. He almost ended up like Rocksalt.

In a fist fight, always take your opposition seriously.

It's one thing to be in major danger against a newcomer who shows basic skills but nothing too interesting. That's pretty bad for your stock.

But this guy was obviously very unorthodox, and obviously was very skilled at controlling the distance and landing powerful, unpredictable strikes.

It doesn't really matter what career Vanatta has in the UFC going forward. Styles make fights, and fighting this guy while he's still pretty unknown is a tough test, which Ferguson passed. And Ferguson presents that same style problem for the champion and the rest of the top 5, so proving he was the guy who does the style better is a big deal IMO.

I was impressed -- hard to say his stock went up, on account of the guy still being a promotional newcomer and the expectation before the fight was that he'd win easily, which he didn't, but after seeing Vanatta, I can't say it went down either.

He took a totally different fighter and fighting style on short notice. Even the likes of TJ Dillashaw look pretty meh against lower-level opponents on short notice, ala Joe Soto.

Now I understand that Soto never really had TJ in trouble, but he still hit TJ quite a few times.

Ferguson is just the type of fighter that doesn't ever fight safe. Maybe to a fault.

He nearly got finished by a guy who took the fight on two weeks, who is not even ranked in the top 15.

To be fair Lando looks like a beast.

I think he basically stood pat to be honest. Getting eaten up by a debuting fighter doesn't do you any favors in the eyes of your bosses. If he's passed over for a title shot everyone should have a good idea of why.

A guy who was ripping a bong when he got the call lol.
