I would like to hear from people who have tried it. What did you think, is it worth the money, is it a good workout? I dont mind spending the money, but I want a good product for my dollars. I enjoy the Thai box tapes but it is a little slow, doesnt get me really tired.

I cant find a training partner where I live, so its just me and the iPod/TV.

use it for energy system training, however, it will retard your form in my opinion if you don't add any technique training to your weekly routine.

ohh yea and you can download it on most servers to see if you want to throw down the cash for it.

Thanks for the input so far guys

I downloaded it a year ago. I like it but I only use the MMA or the 3min rd Boxing workout, so really I'm only using less than half.

Bas's cds have been a lifesaver to my training when I'm out of town, and during periods of time when I wasn't formally training with anyone. I strongly endorse them. They're the best alternative to training w/ partners that I have come across to date. And there's plenty of ways to make it harder, easier, so you can adjust as necessary. You can do this w/ partners if you want to use mitts, or use a heavy bag. It's also a good "gut check" workout, as there are parts where you just want to quit, but pushing yourself through it (with Bas' insistent voice to help motivate you) helps, i think, with building mental toughness to persist.

there are 2 versions of each workout, with 2 minute rounds and with 3 minute rounds-- each clocking in at just under 30 minutes.

definitely worth the money. If these workouts ever get easy for you, well then you are in some crazy good shape, I would say. :)

I do the all around and the mma workouts often and I love them. They're, without a doubt, the best home training that I have ever done.

I downloaded them (not sure if we're allowed to talk about P2P stuff on here, so I won't mention where I got them.....but it was one of the well-known servers) a while ago...just search "Rutten" and you'll get basically his entire set...

It's a great workout...very versatile...I think the "Thai Boxing" is the best, largely because it's the most versatile for travelling and you're limited in space...it pushes you hard and you basically need a couple shoulders width of space to do footwork and stuff...plus, you can choose to knee or kick, so that adds to the versatility...

The "All around fitness" and "all around fighting" are also good...but you need more space and some equipment to work those...which is why I don't recommend them for travel...

Overall a great product...I'd recommend it to anyone.

I even had my girlfriend do it with me one time when she wanted to go to an aerobics class at the gym; she said the Bas workout was a LOT harder than her "high-intensity" cardio classes...and she was really impressed that I do it on a regular basis b/c as far as she's concerned; all I ever do is train BJJ/Muay Thai and lift weights...therefore I'm "not in good cardio shape" because I don't do shit like run or actual "cardio" classes...this workout proved otherwise...

most american's feel you need to long steady state Vo2 training to be "in shape". I would rather do thai pads then run any day.

I just finshed a set of the Thai Boxing rounds not more than an hour ago.

The CD's are worth every penny and are universally beloved. Search the Conditioning forum, for example, and you will be hard pressed to find anyone who has weighed in negatively.

I have it and think it's great for cardio.

I did 3 rounds of 2 min on the thai boxing CD this morning. I haven't worked myself into good enough shape to do the all around workout yet. I really need to anchor my thai bag because it's way too hard to keep up with the things swingin' around

The regular Boxing is probably my favorite but unfortunately I lost my CD. If anyone would be willing to burn me a copy I'd be willing to pay for postage.

do you usually do the whole 10 rounds? i usually can go about 6-8 rounds full on and then the last few rounds are murder. definitely a work out.

to the original poster, these cds are worth it, but you have to keep in mind that you only get out what you put in.

Hell no...I just started training/working out again after a long period (4 years) of being lazy. 3 rounds is my usual with a 4th if it's a good day. I feel pretty good since my first time trying it I was exhausted halfway into round 2.

shadowboxing or on the heavy bag?

One of the most trusted and acclaimed products in Sherdog history. Do a search for "Bas Rutten tapes" and you will discover a wealth of love for them.

The ones I like the best are the All-Around Workout and the 3min Thai boxing.
