i think RDS could have physically just swallowed up mcgregor in potentially boring but methodical fashion.

Whereas I think mcgregor will pepper Diaz in methodical but impressive fashion all while Diaz takes the beating and leaves us with memorable moments.

It sets up as a nice WW Opener and helps hype the RDS fight more which ....could be held at UFC200?

I was picking Conor to win and I'm a big Conor fan, so no.

I do love the Diaz fight, but it could happen at any point in the future. Conor could lose at some point and the Diaz fight would still be fun. The RDA fight was about going for those titles and achieving something that no one ever has. That's why I wanted that fight now and Diaz later

I'm just glad the title isn't on the line anymore. McG had no business fighting for a LW title with 0 fights at LW.

No. I would rather watch Conor KO RDA than Diaz.

It is a blessing in the long run because it puts more miles on McGregor and will lead to his day of reckoning. It's curse in the short run because he gets to fight another guy at a borderline criminal disadvantage yet when he wins -- because he yet again obviously will because he's fighting a guy who is getting like a week to pretend like he's ready -- his fans will act like he's fucking Achilles reborn.

Would still like to see Conor vs RDA. But I'm looking forward to this fight more.

RDA would have been the bigger challenge for Conor, but the Nate Diaz fight will be just as exciting as the fight with RDA would have been, if not more.

The reality is two title holders, not Conor have failed two title fights. I look forward to the same outcome when he (RDA) is ready. I do think RDA lasts to thrid round though..

Good point. Maybe the WWE will pick him up after he gets exposed for not having a ground game. Although I doubt it

Well, what if he loses to Nate. Then he looks like a delusional idiot.

I was looking forward to seeing RDA smash Conor, but the nate fight intrigues me just as much.

I find this logic strange. His a champion ffs, it's not like he is a contender at FW. I agree that an interim title is bs but champ vs champ is something to celebrate.

I think others could have but weren't allowed to. Also, it's easier to have achieved that without defending. Not shooting ya down just saying I don't see it as that monumental or unprecedented if it's the shortest possible route

Not a blessing for RDA. He was spared a lengthy media tour this time round due to the short time frame. He wouldn't be able to for the rematch (if it happens). That's an environment Conor thrives and his opponents suffer in. RDA will be dragged in front of Irish crowds and be forced to endure "Q&A" sessions if he wants that big payday.

Fuck no. Whoever won or lost people pay tens of thousands of dollars to fly there, rent hotels, pay for tickets for a title fight at history not this bullshit fight. How can that be a win or blessing? Fans lost, UFC lost, RDA lost, Conor lost. Only person winning off this is nate diaz who will make more than all his UFC fights combined.

    Nah

Love to watch Nate fight but give me a belt holder vs belt holder match any day before Conor vs a Nate rolling off the couch to fight. Cool fight still but it has nothing on Conor vs RDA
