This isnt about who won the last fight but is anyone surprised with GSP's chin in the last fight and his overall fighting spirit/heart in the last couple?

He got wobbled by johnny in the 2nd round a couple times, he tooks shots id thought would knock alot of guys out and we've seen how he sparked out fitch and kampman with touches. But he didnt even go down once.

Also when he was wobbled he fought right back, landing his own shots. Let alone not getting knocked down once.
I know he lost round 2 pretty one sided, but after rewatching it, he survived well and actually controlled the last 2 minutes.

I think the way he gritted his teeth in the 5th round and got the takedowns showed alot of heart after being hurt multiple times in the fight. And especially since hendricks controlled the clinch and fence game.

I love Penn, but he cant say GSP is a quitter now.

Edit: by surprised i dont mean i thought GSP had a weak chin, but most men would go down after being hit cleanly by hendricks.

I never doubted GSPs chin before even when he was tapping to strikes to Serra he never really went out. He showed heart in the 1st BJ fight but it was in question for me until the Condit fight. He just looked like a frontrunner until then

There will still be those that claim that.

The mouth breathers around here had no evidence he had a bad chin to begin with.

It was impressive, the way he finished and the way he recovered.

More proud of it than surprised!

Not really. I expect the champ to weather storms like that.

No... lol. He's been a champion in a stacked division for almost 7 years.

I don't think his chin or heart should ever have been questioned. Hendricks pushed both to the maximum and although the scoring was, shall we say, generous in GSP's favor I think in retrospect the fight will be seen as solidifying GSP's legacy as a great champion rather than tarnishing it.

Not surprised at all. I was more surprised at JH's performance. Even though he showed signs of gassing he hung in there.

No. You aren't going to stay champ for long without at least a decent chin and a good fighting spirit.

Yep, monster heart and chin.

(absolutely regardless of the outcome of the fight).
