All these mma movies have the same story line. Don't know why they always have some kind of underground mma ring tied to some illegal gambling and mob/gang ties associated with it. It's like 2 movies in 1 and it never makes any sense. They need to focus on how boxing makes their movies, it's nothing like how mma makes their movies. MMA movies are all over the place and boxing movies are about boxing primarily with and added love story and/or story of struggle added into it. Warrior is the only good mma movie. Never Back Down is decent as a Karate Kid style mma movie, but everything else has been bad.
If they want to make a gang/mob movie, make that. Make a separate mma movie and stop trying to mix both together lol. If they really want to make a street style movie, make it like Gridiron Gang where someone is trying to escape that lifestyle and move on to something positive like pursing a fighting career. This other mixing of genres makes no sense, anyone that follows mma knows this is not how mma is at all. There's more mob/gang ties to boxing and not mma. MMA started from BJJ and mostly college wrestlers in the beginning stages. The only mob ties to mma probably is just from Yazuka and Pride influence and the Fertitta's name being attached to UFC. So these type of movies just doesn't make any sense. There needs to be better story lines being produced for these movies. It's like copy and paste from all the other straight to streaming movies that come out that has mma in it.
MMA needs movies like Rocky, Creed, Million Dollar Baby, Southpaw, The Fighter, etc. Not the type of movies they have been coming out with.
