Just bought my first one yesterday. Am i the last reasonably civilized adult human to take the plunge?

hah- i got my first one in like 2012 and i thought i was late to the party.

after round 2013-14 after getting the i4s i couldnt imagine not having a smart phone.

i really miss the i4s. that is a great model.

Its a slippery slope...i held out as long as i could. No turning back now.

I would love to get rid of mine. I use about 15 gigs of data a month, which is ridiculous. It has basically replaced my pc, laptop, and iPad for web browsing. I stream music or podcasts for 8 hours a day at work and web browse for a couple hours on average at home about 5 nights a week.

My iPhone 7 is way too handy and easy to use. I only use my pc for Photoshop and Illustrator. My laptop occasionally to stream tv shows or movies late at night when my wife is sleeping.

Interesting. I was hoping to replace my laptop with this device, but the typing isnt easy wd fat fingers.

True. Typing on a smart phone is a bitch. I have to edit probably 50% of my text messages or any type of posts. But it is convenient if you like to surf the internet while laying down or using one hand. I sit at a desk all day at work, when I get home I don’t want to sit at a desk here also.

I got mine quite recently. Maybe 18 months ago.
I still feel zero need be able to access the internet 24/7, but a lot of vital services started basically requiring me to own a smartphone.
Buying a ticket on the bus/tram, logging into my internet bank to pay bills, stuff like that.
The old ways of just typing your password into your computer, or buying a ticket onboard, apparently isn't good enough anymore.
If I wasn't forced to own one, I'd happily settle for an old cellphone with just phone and SMS capability.

ive never had a cell phone or smart phone.
but i cheat and use an ipod touch, and download apps for texting and making phone calls . . . which i've probably used the calling thing like once since i got an ipod back in 2012 i think. so, yeah. dat house hermit life!

Not having a smartphone would make (my) life so much harder. Banking stuff etc. it’s basically something you must have.
I dont necessarily agree with it, but i guess that’s how life works now.

Nope. Never. My mobile cost me £10. I make 2 or 3 phonecalls every week. I even refuse to text.

My phone is technically a smart phone. It costs $150 and I don’t have a data plan. But I do use wifi on rare occasions.

I got a smartphone a year and half ago after I realized all of the things you can do with them when you're out and about.

The streaming services almost completely replaced my archaic use of an iPod classic and having wireless head phones to go along with the phone is amazing.

They can be pretty useful in this regard.

However, nothing beats having an actual computer for the majority of tasks, storage and internet use and given I don't always get out as much as the average person, I find myself not needing a smart phone like it's an extension of myself or something.

I have a Moto g4 Plus and it is by far the best phone that I have had, plus it is relatively cheap for a smartphone.

I have a Three SIM card, with unlimited everything for £19 a month.

I bought my first "Smartphone" in 2009. I didn't like the idea of spending money on a phone, but unlimited internet at your fingertips, plus unrestricted emails is a must for me nowadays.

I don't like the idea of being glued to a screen, however...
