In the 1st rd, Yoel came out immediately in orthodox before Whittaker landed anything...so it was clearly part of his gameplan. Maybe he wanted to disguise that right hook which he dropped Whittaker with in Rd 3?He was getting his leg kicked in.
Seems legit, when you fight in the same stance you're less open than in opposite stances.I think he felt more comfortable in that stance being stationary and parrying as opposed to bouncing around and using energy like he typically does in his southpaw stance.
