I'm thinking of buying a job lot off Facebook but not sure how much they're worth and it's hard to find out through Google etc so if anyone has any knowledge I'd be grateful. I want to start collecting as an investment

collecting Pokemon Cards solely as investment is not where its at bro

You will end up selling them as a lot for much less than you paid

Evidently collecting Pokemon cards after puberty makes you suck dick. Or maybe sucking dick makes you collect Pokemon cards ...

The only cards that have value are really specific. The amount of work to find which cards have value and finding a buyer would far outweigh whatever profit you might get, which even that is unlikely.

    Sorry to burst your bubble.

I suspect if you buy a misc lot of anything, you can be sure you will get the shittiest ones available. Don't expect hidden treasure.

If they're shiny they're half decent.

    Depends what generation.

At the end of the day with any collectible it’s only worth what someone is willing to pay. eBay sold items filter NOT listing price is a good indicator of value. Also you can cross reference with other online card sites like COMC.com but that’s still only a listing price. Also I’d recommend familiarizing yourself with the game because if a card is a good card to play with it can have value just based on that but that’s more for a buy and flip strategy not really a long term investment type thing.

When I was a kid I used to buy loads of packets, open the packets carefully, take out the shiny card and replace it with an energy card , and glue the packet closed.

Then I would sell the packets to kids at my school at more than full price, and sell the shiny cards seperatley.

I was a pretty evil kid.

Eventually I grew a conscience though.

so naturally I love fucking with him. just mispronouncing the names gets him SOOO mad, like he'll fucking get violent.

there's a character named Mewtwo - I always say Mewthree which makes him flip the fuck out hahaha
