    Just curious.

It seems like the majority of MMA fans have been watching the sport for at least several years now. Either they're old school fans from WAY back or they came in around the first few seasons of TUF.

The thing is, TUF Noobs now aren't noobs anymore. They're fucking veterans.

So do we have anyone here who is a new fan? Maybe you had heard about MMA before but you didn't start watching until sometime within the last 24 months?

I'm trying to get a feel for how many new fans are coming in and what kind of growth the sport is seeing.

How much had you followed the sport before that? A year ago if someone had mentioned Demetrious Johnson to you, would you have known who he is? Or Miesha Tate? Or Junior Dos Santos?

I've been into mma since around 2006, and couldn't care less if newbies are all conor fans, everybody needs introducing some way and at least the guys legit.

I bet it is no lower than 50% of the members here. And there's nothing wrong with that per se. Just some of the shit they spew is ridiculous. Whether it's ignorance, or outright lies.

But it's better than the guy with a 10 year old account that doesn't know shit. Or perpetuates that same ignorance, or outright lies.

just joined here, but have been really into MMA since 06'ish.......and more of a casual before that time

GSP/Iceman/Hughes/Tito/Forrest were what peaked my interest specifically in MMA and the UFC.

Took a minor break from the sport for a few years.....last 3-4 years been back into it.
I like how frequent the events are now. I also like watching the different divisions and numerous fighters from each one.

Waiting on GSP to come back and see if he can still do it, would be nice if we could get Jones in the octagon again as well.

lol No. Tate, maybe. Can swear I had heard her name somewhere before, but I couldn't have told you anything about her. I do remember

I knew who Conor McGregor, Ronda Rousey, Brock Lesnar (mainly because he came from pro wrestling and then eventually returned there, me being a pro wrestling fan and all) and maybe a couple others were, but that was it. I knew full well who Dana White was and what he sounded like, but still knew next to nothing about the sport. I knew who Ronda was by far the most, and even went out of my way to watch her loss to Holly Holm when I heard about it in the news. I also heard and saw people talking about the Aldo KO a month later. I pretty much began watching shortly after that. Looking back, I really wish I had began earlier, the Aldo KO in particular would have been so much more epic.

Ain't no shame in that game really, though. Everyone has to start somewhere.
