Anyone have Institute of Human Performance Products?

I know everyone on here hates every single fitness product ever invented if it didnt come from Ross Enamait. But putting that aside, has anyone really seen anything from Rhadi and JC over at the Institute of Human Performance.

Or anything from Rhadi's website for that matter?

And if you havent seen them or tried them yourself, please dont sit here and tell me that something else if better when youre really just guessing.

Never tried them but seen them. I dont think anyone here has tried them because nearly everything ive seen of his requires some sort of "JC Santana Jump bands" or powerballs or pink and yellow poke a dotted medicineballs with handles.

His books are really expensive and the equipment needed is even more expensive.

I also didnt like how he was training Monson for sylvia by having him practice his doubleleg with 8 or 12 bands attatched to him for resistance. Everything i have read has said that practicing the movements you use in your sport with added resistance will make that movement slower/less explosive.

^^^^ i just got that book in the mail, along with Practical Programming for Strength. I plugged them on the St.Wilhelms website
 
I used to get their e-mails, didn't look anything revolutionary and seemed way over-priced and full of over the top hype.

Apparently the admins are adding some stuff, I think there's a new double post preventing feature, all this techno trickery has nothing to do with me. I just hit people with teh banstick.
 
I "downloaded" a bunch of their stuff with put the fact that their products is rediculously overpriced out of the equation.

They got a bunch of good ideas in their products but in large it is oftenly to product depending, especially if you go the route of getting one of their dvds focused on your sport (kickboxing, nogi grappling, gi grappling, mma, boxing, etc) instead of the ones that focus on implements that you know you got (medballs, dumbells, bw, etc)...
As you can tell im rather lukewarm about it, the one poster I do know that likes them here is STWAcoach that post here, try sending him a pm perhaps and he might help you out with choosing some of their better stuff..

Personally I say if you put any of their products beside on of Ross books and compare price and what you get from them you will soon understand why most posters here sing the same song to most questions like this, because most have been burned and "ripped" of on to much overpriced material before. There are a few products that are generarelly really good in this field, then there is tons of material that is only good for a whery small niche crowd but is marketed for a larger audience and overpriced, and then there are tons of pure trash.
 
I'm with Cody on this, and I don't know how many times I've written it on here.

If you want to get stronger, get your ass into the gym, and lift some heavy freakin weights.

If you want to get better at your sport, practice, practice, practice.

Don't mix the two.

For example, if you want to become a better free throw shooter use a regulation ball, and practice. Don't use a heavier ball thinking that is going to help things. It will only make things worse.

Another example, if you are a pitcher, and you want to work on your pitches, pitch a regular sized ball. Don't use a heavier baseball thinking that those skills are going to transfer over to the regulation ball.

Finally, if you want to become a better snowboarder, practice snowboarding. Don't get on a Swiss Ball, and practice balancing on that because that will only make you better at balancing on a Swiss Ball. There again isn't a transfer of skills.

But for those of you who continue to think there is a transfer of skills there between sport specific training keep doing what you are doing, and hopefully you won't injure yourself.

Just PM STWACoach and get him to design you a program, for the kind of money you'll pay for one of their dvd's/books, you could get Coach to design you an extremely effective program instead.

+1. I have read both books a couple of times and they have helped me tremendously. I have recommended them to everyone I know who is interested in strength training. BTW
 
ya, i heard about the new edition. but i didn't want to wait for it to come out as i hadn't heard anything about a release date.

Bama, you might want to a be a bit careful with "advertising" on sherdog. i think there are pretty strict rules about it.

how would doing a 300lbs bench press help with pitching skills??.dont you use your whole body to obtain max power for the throw.your legs for push off your core for roation your back shoulders and arms the best way to train is sport specfic training or "functional training".
as far as injurys old school method of lifting weight produce more injurys then functional training

as far as rhadi he is no longer with IHP

Yeah, that's why a professional lineman's weight routine looks exactly like a tennis pro's.
