So, I bought my OLED in March 2016 (almost 7 years old) and it was amazing. But, about a year to two years ago, I started having minor image problems with it. It's one of the last curved, 3D (I actually watch 3D movies) made though, so I just dealt with it. But, now look at it:

It's really bad now. There's that banding at the top and bottom (best seen in red, but in every brighter scene), and now the squiggly crap in the middle. There's also vertical banding that didn't show up here.

OLEDs are great, but they tend to develop problems over time. Maybe the newer TVs are better though.

I just emailed LG to see if they can send a new panel. I watched a couple of Youtube videos and it's not super hard (if you're careful) to install a new panel yourself which I did not realize until recently.

Yep I got an older OLED, the thing is you can't see any of the burn in unless you're on a red screen so it doesn't really matter

geeze, even old plasmas dont get that bad, too bad they dont come in 4K resolutions

But if LG sends a panel at no cost, which I heard they do, I'll update this thread too.

2021 LG Oled here and I’m not happy with the response time from the remote, wish I could put more RAM in it. Also have trouble casting shit from the ESPN app to it, not possible.
Picture looks great and it better stay that way.

Have a 2021 LG. I use it as a smart TV and it sometimes locks up and kicks me out of Youtube.

Overall it's been good but that ticks me off. I like LG products overall, the washer and dryer have held up great. Previous TV was a good LG, got rid of it for this much larger one.

Mine has always been fine. What model?

LG's operating system cans suck a dick. I haven a 60'' mid-grade LG and the picture and everything is fine, but the navigation is clunky as hell. I use my Xbox or Fire if I want to watch something on it.

I find the magic remote to be amazing actually.

I also have that Samsung Curve, which is still working beautifully. But I do agree with newer televisions tend to fall into pieces after some years. But prior to that, I had a Vizio that I bought around 2004 and that thing lasted for 11-12 years. I had moved to the master bedroom, and it was still great but after a few years, it gave up. Not bad though.

I’ve been thinking about getting a 75 inch for my living room and leave the curve in my TV room.

I'm more on the budget side though. It's 4K HDR10 LED I think I paid around $600 for it a couple of years ago.

I bought a C7 in November of 2017. Awesome TV. A couple of years ago a blue horizontal bar showed up in the middle of the screen. I Googled it and found it was burn-in and that the panel would have to be replaced. The part was 2 grand so I started shopping for a new TV. Weeks went by and I just put up with it because I didn't want to pop for a new TV. Just for the hell of it, I called LG customer service, even though the screen was out of warranty. They sent a tech out to verify the burn-in, sent me a brand new panel, and then sent the tech back out to install it. This all happened in less than a week. My OLED looked better than new because of improvements that had been made to the screen since I bought mine, and they didn't charge me a dime. I couldn't believe it. LG makes a beautiful TV and in me they have a customer for life.

Nice! Hoping it's the same for me.

That's why. The higher models have better processors.

For $2,000 in late 2021 which is when I think I bought it I would expect for something a bit better, and the incompatibility with casting certain apps like the ESPN+ one that’s just shameful, tho I’m not sure who’s to blame there from apple, espn, or lg.
