Myself and a friend are flying into Vegas for UFC 189.
Thursday 9th - Monday 13th July.

We are aiming to make the most of our weekend in Vegas, doing a couple of pool parties alongside the weigh-ins and fight.

Not sure if we want to stay in the MGM Grand, as i imagine its gonna be pretty hectic, but we are going to pick a hotel nearby.

anyone else going and what do your fight weekend plans look like?

Group of people that get together every year going and we do a lot of group stuff together. We get together on Thursday at a Steak house with a group of about 20 and a group about double that size on Friday rent a banquet room and then we are having a house party off the strip.

PM me for more details if you're interested.

I'll be there from the 6th-13th and doing everything from karaoke, pool party, KISS mini-golf, indoor sky-diving, 3 MMA shows.....full week. Highlight of my year really.

I'll be there that weekend. There's another Fight Night on the following Sunday headlined by Jake Ellenburger and Wonderboy Thompson (formerly Benson and M. JOHNSON)

Pretty good weekend of fights. I'll be at the MGM grand as well. I'll be at the sports book lobby if you wanna hang out and talk sports for a little bit while I'm there

I'll be there, but, no itinerary other the weigh ins and the fights. I do want to go on some kind of off-road desert tour of some sort.

I'm coming in on Friday and leaving Sunday. Bought a two-day pass for the Fight Expo and also registered for the UFC's 5k on Saturday morning. And of course the fight itself. Not sure how to get into the weigh-in, but I'd love to check that out too.

Good move on not staying at the MGM - all the hotels on the Strip are all fairly close together, and even if you have to walk a ways, whatever, the Strip is awesome.

If you're looking for something fun, you can do a controlled freefall off the Stratosphere, which is like an 800-foot drop from the top where you're just harnessed to a cable. I did that last November and it was awesome.

sounds good, i imagine the weigh-ins will be ticketed but free? i'm determined to have a relaxed evening on friday and not be hungover for the fights!

Shit I ain't going to Vegas but I have friends coming in from all directions to watch this extravagant event. But good for you, I'm pretty sure Vegas will be the place to be.

Nope

but if anyone wants to donate around

i will be sitting on my lounge, beer in my hand and a tent in my pants. cant wait for it!

in 2012 for the silva sonnen 2 card they had Five Finger Death Punch play at the Mandalay Bay pool, was pretty fun and the show kicked ass. I hear they play for UFC events a lot so might want to look into it.

I too would be interested in how to attend the weigh in.

....

There's also invicta the night before and TUF finale the night after. A real embarrassment of riches.

I am going with my wife for her birthday! Her idea I swear. We fly in on the 8th and leave on the 12th at night. I am going to the weigh ins and they aren't ticketed from what I understand but you get in before hand for a Q & A, not sure who it will be, if you have a Fight Club membership. They limit you to 2 people per membership.

I didn't know about the Invicta card or the Fight Night card but cant justify the added cost. We are staying at Hotel 32 at the top of the Mirage but will hang out at MGM and possibly go to the EXPO too to see some fighters. Last time in Vegas we ran in to Cheick Kongo at the elevators, Bruce Buffer in the casino and caught a glimpse of BJ Penn.

I'll be making my annual pilgrimage from the 6th - 16th. Golf, poker, fights, and drinking.

I advise going and watching the IMMAF world championships prelim rounds, and obviously the finals, if you can make it. The prelims are held at The Flamingo LV Hotel and Casino, and the championships are held at the UFC Fan expo. Get involved and go watch the future of MMA.
