Anyone get free money from the government every month?

When I was dealing crack and heroin in the 90's me and my cousin would post up in the parking lot of the check cashing place on the 1st of the month and catch all the vetos right when they were walking out the door with a pocket fulla cash
My buddy Reg would even fill his car with crackheads and give em rides to cash their checks so he could make sure no one short stopped him

which tbf, probably describes 85% of the young female population where I live, not that many opportunities and lots of single moms going to college indefinitely

If you go to our grocery store, Stater Bros, good luck. You will, without fail, be stuck behind someone trying to use WIC or SNAP to cop something not allowed, despite them both coming with picture books and the aisles literally having labels next to allowed products.

I'll put it this way, our Little Ceasers routinely runs out of $5 hot n readys......
 
I'm on them food stamps. The rehab I was staying at requires you to sign up for them because you're not allowed to work for 6 months and they in turn take your food stamp money to pay for your 3 meals a day. When you graduate the program they give you your card back
 
Yeah, more than half the population in my country is on some form of government subsidy or "employed" in government sponsored McJobs and admin of nanny state. Less than half of the population goes to actual work and is taxed out the wazoo to finance this steroid welfare system. I don't mind paying for a fair welfare system that benefits the ones that genuinely need it, but when every year new bogus labels are invented ("Stress sick leave" "depression" "ADD" etc) so that able-bodied middle-class people can sponge off the system, go for free therapy and navel gaze for years on end etc, and see how this consistently drains ressources away from the weakest in society - Old people, sick people, the mentally ill, vulnerable kids etc - argggh, makes me fucking livid.
The old people who built this country are treated like shit and can't even get decent food and personal help they need and are just rotting away, undignified, in their own filth in old folks' homes. Psychiatric hospitals are closing down and mentally unwell people are once again living on the streets as hobos. Our glorious socialist welfare system has basically become a smorgasbord for the younger middle class who knows how to work the system and shamelessly victimise themselves with the new sexy labels ("Stress" etc) while real victims pay the price and their over-taxed neighbours pick up the bill. Made me a conservative misanthrope.
I don't personally know anyone on welfare, and i despise people who are (unless they genuinely, truly do not have any other means of survival or belong to aforementioned vulnerable groups).

In Canada, just about everyone with kids gets free non-taxable money every month

Although, I guess it's a bit disingenuous to call it free because in my province we pay 13% sales tax on top of income tax and voluntary taxes like the lottery.

I don't know about other provinces, but in Ontario, the money you get per child, you can probably blow out by dining out twice a month just on the taxes alone.

I don’t even know a single person who’s ever recieved a government hand out. Must suck to know poor people.
 
I live in NYC, and I think I can show, I make below the poverty line. I gonna try for some welfare tomorrow.
