Anyone Generally Enjoy Watching WMMA more than most men's MMA?

there's some good fights here and there, but i can't tell you how many times i've seen a wmma fighter grab some sort of sloppy school yard headlock and hold on not knowing what else to do. it's usually someone who is in a bad position and won't let go because they're not sure how to deal with being on bottom and they're trying to prevent a td that is just inevitable at that point.

i can deal with the sloppy striking we see at all levels of mma.

WMMA does something different for me then their male counterparts. The emotion displayed seems more intense to me. With men, you get the 'warrior screaming battle cry of triumph' and sometimes you get the 'I've worked so hard and it had finally come to this, I'm crying tears of joy'.

With some of the women, I see both those displays simultaneously. Cat over Nu

The last Invicta was terrible.

i enjoyed it. there were the finishes by jinh yu frey and alexa grasso, a couple competitive fights in bennett vs. maia and ostovich vs. johnson, a bit of a surprisingly sharp performance from roxy modafferi, and another armbar win for tonya evinger. then there was a great title fight to end the show. not the best invicta, but overall, pretty good stuff. :)

in the last few years I think I watched more WMMA than MMMA frankly ...
of course I watch and enjoy the best expression of both, but somewhat I prefer the pacing and the imprudence of many top WMMA fights.

Then, there are bad fights even in WMMA and Invicta of course, the last Honchak title defense for example, but in general Invicta is exciting

WMMA is honestly more exciting and entertaining than the men's, which is a problem.

I generally don't enjoy women's MMA whatsoever.

I love it.

WMMA is in its infancy. I like watching it grow and evolve.

I feel like most female fighters always seem to have some sort of background story that makes them that much more interesting and not to mention relatable.

I am aware that the skill level sometimes is very low, but sometimes those make for the most interesting fights. I feel like sometimes a very technically sound fight can be dull and boring ( thats just my opinion).

Also, for the most part, girls fight with way more emotion. Girl hate is very real and translates very well in the cage.

Finally, as a woman, I love seeing strong female role models. I can appreciate the dedication that a female fighter must have in order to make it in a male dominated sport.

I find myself enjoying a lot of the women's fights. Lots of people argue that they're not the most technical, etc... but I think that's what I can enjoy about it sometimes.

I like watching a good brawl every now and then. They bring it, everytime. They still have something to prove (that they can be exciting, etc.) so most women's fights I've seen have been rather exciting with respect to throwing punches, etc... and they tend to be quicker.

I just like watching fighting in any form it comes, but I've noticed that I've been more bored by some of the guys' fights lately and not as bored with the women's.

^ Nailed it.

UFC is a place for the best fighters of the world.

WMMA is lightyears below.

Lately yes. Seems in "most" cases the women have more to prove and therefore fight harder. I don't care about technique as much as heart, desire, and perseverance which the women seem to be outdoing a lot of the men. Don't get me wrong the best male matches are always the draw overall, but I would rather watch an WMMA match between 2 newcomers than 2 men at the same experience level(not skill obviously)

I judge the fights on their own merits, have sat thru soME god awful fights between men, knockout power is probably the biggest draw back with WMMA.

I wouldn't say I enjoy watching women's fights more than men's fights, but I think the presence of women's fights make MMA more interesting and look forward to cards that have women's fights in them a bit more than cards that don't.

I enjoy the 115lb wmma weight division a lot, probably because I spent a lot of time investing in these girls and because there is a lot of talent in that division. I don't know if I enjoy it more than men's mma, but I don't enjoy it less.

I don't know about that TS but a few Invicta events have topped UFC events easily. OSP/Shogun for instance was terrible while the Invicta event about the same time was a bloodbath and a great show.

Why?

It certainly isn't for the striking. It certainly isn't for the skill level, which is regional circuit standard at best. It certainly isn't because you feel a fight can end at any given moment, as nobody has KO power.

It's for another reason...and we all know what that is. You enjoy seeing scantily clad women writhing around with each other.

Yeah, the internet called, it wants you to know that it has free porn by the terabyte. I wouldn't watch a women's judo match to watch chicks rolling around with each other, I wouldn't watch a women's fight for anything similar. It's a non-factor.

Depends on the fighter. For example, I like watching Seo Hee Ham over a Brad Tavares or Darren Elkins.

I enjoy both, I'm a little more supportive of WMMA though because my wife competes in grappling and wants to fight someday. Watching her train I see how many roadblocks there are for women and how many men hate what she's trying to do. It's difficult to find female training partners in a gym, let alone a partner in a weight class that's close. Until recently there wasn't even an ultimate goal for fighting. There wasn't Invicta or UFC for a long time and now that those options are out there a lot more women are competing. It's kind of cool to support these pioneers who are there now and blazing a trail and I can't wait to see that side of the MMA spectrum grow.
