Anyone feel like the main event will be Bendo's bouts against Miller and Guida

I think there's a very good chance of this title bout looking like a repeat of those dominant performances against durable wrestlers.

I agree. I think bendo dominates. I just don't see what Gilbert brings to the table that bendo can't handle.

I fear Gil's cage rust. Plus, he was less than impressive vs. the punk. He may have even lost. It bothers me that he said his poor performance was due to lack of motivation. You've never heard GSP talk about lack of motivation to fight. Just sayin'.

It surely will go exactly as Bendo/Guida.
Considering Gil's striking is the same as The Carpenter's.

that's totally irellevant, and you're just going to turn this into a war between GSP haters and nuthuggers

I don't know enough about Gilbert to make a judgement call on it, but just from the two fights I've seen of him he doesn't seem to be better than a top 10, and I think Benson can take him out with kicks( or at least out point him)

How many of you guys have you seen Gilbert fight?
Gilbert is like a small Cain Velasquez (or maybe Cain is a big Gilbert Melendez...?), but he pushes a pace, and he has much better striking then Guida. This will definitely be Bensons toughest fight as champion. What Gilbert has over all of Bensons opponents is that he is tough, he is tested, and he puts it all together much better than all those guys; he is like all of those guys rolled into large sushi roll. Whoever can dictate the pace wins this fight, in my opinion.

I don't think so. I think Gil's boxing is way better than both of them. I think his wrestling is better to. I see this fight being a competitive fight that either man can win but don't think either will win by a large margin.

Gil completely dominated Guida when they fought. It was years ago but still somewhat relevant.

I agree that the fight may resemble Benson/Guida, but Melendez is much better than Guida.

Plus, Gil looked possessed tonight. I've never seen him look so focused and confident before.

I am so pumped for this fight.

Gilbert is better than both Miller and Guida. Also, the Guida fight wasn't really a domination.

But people pick Pettis to be the one to dethrone Benson, when he lost Guida? fallacies.........fallacies everywhere

WTF are you talking about? He's fighting Gilbert, they already weighed in and I don't see a report that Gilbert's injured, so I don't understand why you would think Benson would fight a guy he's already fought and beat before. WTH?

I really hope not been wanting to see Henderson fall since he fought Donald Cerrone, still think he lost that fight.

I cant really call it. I never seen Gil fight. If his boxing is as good as they say it is and he can cancel out Benson's wrestling he can probably out-box Bendo. But can he handle the kicks of Bendo he is a great kicker. My man Benson is really smart and entertaining and son has a certain swag to him that i dont think he can be phased by any LW.

Huge difference striking is levels above almost anyone in the weight class and just because the ufc has horrible judging and a takedown is worth 1000 points means nothing and also it was no 5 round fight which all plays a huge factor I miss the old days it should go till a finish no rounds thats a real fight anyway and there would be less boring bums like guida around he is so lame
