And not a guy like Kos that will just wrestle him to a descision unless he lands a big right early. I wanted to see him fight Leben or Thiago Alves if hes goin to WW. Kos is just a bad matchup IMO. Thoughts?
Kos is bad match-up for a lot of guys really, he's tough as nails. But it depends which Koscheck shows up, the one who wants to fail a striking battle or if he wants to wrestle. Didn't Lawler just get eaten up by a striker as well in Lorenz Larkin? I'd love to see him go to war with Alves though. I miss seeing Thiago fight. If they made this match-up, IMO Alves would destroy his legs and won't get caught the way Manhoef did.
Yeah, Lawler Vs. Melvin was one of my favorite KO's of all time. Dunno though, Kos may try'n mix it up on the feet. That being said, his DNA is a wrestler (And a damn good one), so his base instinct will always be to go for the takedown. Hopefully Robbie's fight after is with a striker. Would love to see him vs. a guy like Hardy.
I thought larkin was a wrestler?? I admit.I dunno much about him tho. Anyway Im pretty sure the unanimous vote went ti seeing lawler vs leben as that would have been amazing but instead they give us this straight bs match up. It seriously make no sense lawyers not a top 3015 right now so a win really does what for either guy?
I think KOS eats a good hard punch in the first and decides to wrestle his way to a decision. KOS will do to Lawler what he did to Paul Daley.
two exciting tough guys. this will be a fun fight IMO. would love to see him against a striker after.
both fighters have name value and needed a fight? It might have been more fun to see Lawler vs. another striker, but Scott Smith can only take so much punishment guys. :icon_chee I like this matchup b/c the unexpected could always happen. I thought Lawler started with a wrestling base, but then fell too in love with his KO power, so he started getting wreckless and put his wrestling in the freezer. Perhaps he can neutralize KOS's wrestling and we can see these guys go toe to toe. It's not like KOS won't stand there and strike. He fought 5 rounds with a broken face against GSP.
I agree. I think this fight will look like Kos-Daley. Kos wrestling is just to much for Lawler. Imo Lawler won
All I hear when I think of the is fight is: "Boom ... Bop!" Such a great KO. As for Ruthless, I'm just so fucking stoked the man is in the UFC, fighting a striker it not. That said, I think Kos is a little above his pay grade at this point, but a win over Kos automatically puts Ruthless on the verge of being in the mix.
I'm sure everybody aside from Kos fans wishes Lawler would have been paired with a striker. It simply has much more potential to be exciting and end in a finish. I like the Alves/Hardy ideas.
