Aldo imo is still at the apex of the FW division. Gave the new king Max a run for his money both times they fought.

I think he ran out of gas both times. He might have sneaked a decision if it was a three rounder. His head movement was spot on, but just couldn't handle the pace. There's a huge difference between 3 rounds and 5 rounds.

Aldo has a good style for Ortega. Leg kicks, jabs, Goat TDD all day for a decision victory in a 3 rounder. 5 rounder will be interesting though. Ortega might tire him out.

I'm still iffy about Ortega. Edgar had it coming after all those wars. He shoulda been done in that Stephens fight, but being the warrior he is, he came through.

I believe Max will win a decision over Ortega. But if somehow Ortega wins, I think it sets up Aldo for another crack at the title.

No, I want to see Max vs Ortega and find out who that belt belongs to.

best FW title fight since Conor vs Aldo.

Not that interested in seeing Aldo fight anymore, tbh.

Great fighter but I think he peaked and obviously cannot hang with Max.

Ortega vs Max is the fight to make.

you clearly wanna see aldo get finished by ortega, but what if aldo pulls out the decision win? max is left out without an opponent.

fight makes no sense.

Jose needs some easy wins before he gets back with the contenders

I think Ortega earned his title shot. An Aldo fight makes no sense.

I agree Max vs Vega should be next, but Max could rematch Stephens if Aldo pulled it off.

But Aldo vs Ortega has to be made eventually, if Ortega wins or loses vs Max.

If Ortega becomes champ, Ortega vs Aldo for the title and Max vs Edgar(after a set up win, maybe Lamas, Emmet) for the title shot.

If Ortega loses, Aldo vs Ortega for the next title shot. While Edgar gets his shot at Max for the title. This is the preferable route for Aldo to become champ again. Edgar matches up well with Max and Aldo could easily decision Ortega.

Aldo needs to rematch Cub then the winner should fight whoever wins between Holloway and T-City. I think Stephens needs 1 more solid win before he gets a title shot. Edgar should drop down to BW and fight Garbrandt or Cruz. I would love to see Edgar go up to LW and fight Guida (should've happened a long time ago IMO) if anything though, since Edgar will be out for awhile, I say a rematch between him and Mendes when Mendes comes back this summer. either way, things are starting to look good for 145lbs.

No Aldo hasn’t been the same since the Conor fight... Conor took his soul he’s 1-3 he needs to fight Stephens I think that’s the match to make... I can’t wait to see Ortega vs Max that’s gonna be a fun fight

Ortega deserves a title shot. Aldo should fight someone else coming off of a loss.

Last thing I want to see is Mendes rematch Edgar immediately. I would put him in the mix with these four. I think he has the style to beat Max, but not the style to beat the other 3.

Edgar going down to 135 down is a good option. I'm up to see him vs TJ, Cruz or Garbrandt. I have no desire to see Edgar at 155, the guys are gigantic there now.

Personally I wouldn't want to see that fight. I feel that Jose Aldo is past his best and his best years are behind him. At this point, if he were to fight Ortega right now, I can see him losing every aspect of the fight from the stand up to the ground.
If Ortega were to fight Aldo during his successful reign as champion with the multiple title defenses, I can see aldo sticking and moving in the stand up while peppering Ortega with jabs and low kicks. I can see Aldo avoiding the ground at all costs, and winning the fight by decision.
Combat sports is a young man's game, aside from a few exceptions on ped's. A matchup between the two now would most likely favor the younger and hungrier fighter in Ortega.

No, I want to see Cub vs Aldo. First finish was flukey. Cub can make Aldo fight an amazing war with him. Hope it gets booked.

That's a good fight as well. Very winnable for both.

I'm just talking about him going to 155 and fight Guida. I think any hardcore fan would love that fight. those are two guys who bring it and both are OG's. you're guaranteed chaos if you have both Edgar and Guida in the cage at the same time. tons of footwork, both have solid boxing, solid wrestling (although Edgar has the better wrestling) that's a fun matchup. Edgar is 36, not getting any younger and I think he should put his UFC title run days behind him and just have fun.

Chad Mendes needs a top five opponent at the very least if it's not Edgar, then maybe Stephens. I know Mendes is coming off of back to back losses, but he's still one of the very best featherweights to ever compete in MMA and I think at the very least, he deserves someone at the top of the division. I want to see Cub vs Aldo 2, just given that their first fight ended very quickly and both have evolved a lot since the WEC.

I think one dude who has a chance at beating Holloway other than Ortega atm is Chad Mendes and I'm so excited for his return back to the division this summer. as much as I love Jose Aldo though, I have to say, I think his "best days" and I mean days as champion are behind him. who knows though, I could be wrong, but only time will tell.

Its all about styles these days. Aldo is never beating Max. Mendes and Edgar have a good style to trouble/beat him. Where as Aldo has the perfect style to beat those two.

Ortega matches up well with Edgar and Mendes, but I think he'll struggle vs Max, Aldo (3rounder), even Stephens maybe.
