Anyone else think Tyrone Spong's latest fight looked dodgy?

I was going through my Twitter and saw Spong had put up the end of his latest boxing match on Instagram, and after watching it, I can't help but feel it looked a bit... fake.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not accusing Tyrone himself of anything, it's just that, when he connects with the final punch, his opponent hesitates, then jumps on the floor. If you're out, how do you jump?

I've seen hundreds, upon hundreds of fights, but I have never seen someone be "KOd" like that. Surely he would have just flopped, right?

Watch Spong's KO, then watch Daley's KO of Scott Smith.
The reason I'm using Daley vs. Smith as an example is because it's a similar situation.

Spong

Daley (skip to 1.55)

Also, I made the thread in this forum because Spong's with WSOF.

It did look kind of weird.

I don't think that guy needed to throw a fight in order for Spong to win.

I don't think he hesitated, he caught him while the guy was charging forward like an idiot. Kind of like how it looked comical when Vitor hit Dan Henderson and it looked like his feet kept going.

Looked like he literally dove to the canvas. But your brain can do weird shit when you get hit right, involuntarily flexing some muscles, relaxing others. It might have been a dive, but he did get hit with a solid shot, it's not like it was a phantom punch.

He was pretty a major tomato can, some of those guys would get knocked out from drinking a tall glass of milk.

Has anyone

That had to be one of the hardest punches of all time to make Dan change directions airborne.

maybe he was a Rolles Gracie fan ?

People do weird things when they are hit, hard to say. I'd like to see the full fight too to get a feel for it.

if you've seen hundreds of fights, surely you have seen Mike Tyson hit some guys and make them quit but not really be lights out

fuckin trt vitor. i remember watching that and just kind of in shock for a bit. that was deadly.

I have to admit it looks very strange

It looks a bit odd but he went down face first without bracing, it might have been one of those things where his body seized up for a split second, it doesn't look like he jumped or was in control of his body when he fell.

'Opponents' in boxing do this all the time, they don't even try to fight and go down as soon as a punch connects. Its normal.

His opponent is 1-5 now you could easily call him a can. He's probably not in there to get massive head trauma or pull the upset. Paycheck and I'll lay down once it hurts....

He's still fighting cans at this point of his boxing career.

some take the opportunity after a hard hit to go down if they see they can't win. nothing dodgy about that, just different skilllevels.

The guy he fought is 1-5 with 4 loses by KO.
