Anyone else strongly dislike the Full Contact Fighter logo?

I don't think this is the current logo, but a lot of their gear still has it:

Does the position of the non-punching hand really bother anyone else? I don't think there's a situation where your hand should be in that position while throwing a punch.

I think the problem with putting the hand higher is that it would muddle the design. Where it is currently, you can clearly tell that's his hand and his arm is down. If he was closely protecting his chin, you likely shouldn't see anything extra at that angle, other than possibly the blob of the glove near his chin. And if he was holding his hand up high, it would again mess with the siloutte (sp?) of his head.

I could analyze it further, but I already feel like enough of a loser for the 1st paragraph.
 
The unoriginality of it is what kills it for me. They make good stuff but, it's just a spinoff logo.

This is exactly what my girlfriend said... and it's the truth. I like the idea of the logo (yes, it's a spinoff... but that's not necessarily bad) but the execution isn't perfect.

I believe there would be an angle in a spinning backfist that would clearly show both hands... but then that would be much more confusing. Then again, it's hard to boil MMA down to one specific motion without limiting it to it's originating sport...
 
I agree with the logo not looking right. As a graphic designer, I get what they were trying to do, but the logo could use work.

On a related logo note: As much as I love the company, owner, and products, I can't honestly say I dig SSF Gear's logo. No offense to SSF gear, but if ya'll had a better designed logo for your line/company, you would sell a ton more.

Ditto, I'm not a street fighter I am an athlete. Absolutely fantastic company with great products though.
 
People complain about anything. I lik the logo and everyone does realize its a spinoff logo which is why most people like myself like it.

Don't like the logo? Go and buy a product with the logo you like. There are so many brands out there why limit yourself to one?

Yea, I can't honestly rock this logo at work. Its bad enough I'm bald and it doesn't help when ignorant people assume I'm a thug. Wearing something with "street fighting" on it just asks for trouble. I'm thinking some logotype treatment on SSF and maype an SSF icon would do wonders. If I have time, I'll try to mock some stuff up. Maybe SSF can have a logo contest or something.
 
You got it. Let's do a logo contest with the winner getting a pair of the new SSF fairtex style MMA gloves or gi or something. Knock yourselves out.
