Is anyone else picking Melvin Guillard to win because of the "sickness" of Jamie Varner? I was at first betting on Jamie Varner to win, but after seeing the fiasco that happened last weekend, I think Melvin should be the favorite at UFC 155.

Who else has had a change of heart of this fight due to the circumstances of Varner's health?

Jaime won't be fighting unless he's healthy, so no.

No, not really. What exactly do you think has changed since Varners "sickness"?

Varner's sickness and nerves or even fear of being KOd unforunately do not make Guillard's chin or choke-defense any better.

Well i just got over being sick...throwing up a bunch hurts...I couldnt imaging making weight and fighting within a few weeks...

But im sure Varner will work it out and still pull out the W....Varner is often hard to tko or ko and has the power and subs to finish Melvin...this is just a fun fight for the fans...

If anything it will be harder on Malvin cause he cuts much more weight and has to be 155 again in a coule weeks.

I think his mental game for one, it has to be in the back of his mind that he was just puking up two weeks before the fight. And if he really was sick, his cardio can be significantly compromised. He didn't go on the MMA Hour yesterday because he still felt sick, and once he gets over it he has to start cutting weight again and get ready to fight for three rounds..that can potentially be a huge concern going into this fight. Most of the time when people get sick, it takes about two weeks to really feel back at 100 percent, so who knows how good he'll feel at UFC 155.

Neither could Melvin Guillard; in fact, Melvin lost to Joe Lauzon in 47 seconds.

Took that on short notice and was up 2 rounds until he hurt his hand and was forced to go for takedowns while gassed. Do you really think Lauzon would win a rematch? Even with all that considered, he did just a bit better against him than Guillard did.

Now that I re-read your post though, I kind of think you were trolling.

I doubt Jaime would have more nerves fighting Guillard than Edson Barboza for his 1st UFC fight. think about it Melvin nuthuggers.

Didn't he get sick from a bad weight cut? That's definitely something to consider. No idea why Jamie is coming in so heavy.

I am not sure, I didn't see any specification on whether or not it was due to a bad weight cut.

Does anyone have information on this?

The only thing that would make me pick Melvin is the way he looks. He appears to be just in incredible athlete. Still his grappling game is just not up to par. I really feel like I would have a chance to beat him in a straight up JJ match. I choose Varner, or anyone else really.

I love Melvin to bits but he's got no chin and can't stop subs, Varner will probs KO Melvin but i'm just hoping Melvin gets the win.

He looked like he was on bath salts at the weigh-in.
