Planning to go there in late summer.

What are the must see attractions to go to?

Mount Olympus

Rent the Movie "Singapore Sling", that'll get you ready for Greece.

After that check out "Summer Lovers".

Do you have any ideas what you want to do?

I've been to Corfu, Athens and Santorini. I didn't spend all that much time in Athens though. I know some things about Mykonos and Ios as well, but just what I've heard from friends.

Who are you going with? Buddies? Wife? I can show you pictures or answer any questions you want to the best of my knowledge.

How old are you?

Corfu is a pretty small island, which is beautiful - but there isn't all that much to do unless you stay at the party hostel there, where you can take kayak tours etc, it's a lot of fun and you meet a lot of people, but most everything revolves around booze (and the lovely scenery). We rented ATV's and went around Corfu - a buddy I met there was already there for a few months and took us around, we found this one little bar while exploring the island on the 4x4's that had the best grilled calamari that I've ever had, and some delicious other greek dishes as well. I found that a ton of the small hole in the wall restaurants had delicious food. The weather is great, the beaches are beautiful, and you can buy pitchers or margarita's or daquiris.

Santorini is beautiful, but yeah, it's touristy. Stayed on the black sand beach there...great long beaches, some good bars there...live music some nights. Can take a boat tour to visit some of the islands, and climb to the top of the volcano's. The sunsets with the white buildings in Fira or Oia are beautiful, but if you think you're going to be along there, think again. There are hundreds of people lined up...although if you're ballsy, you can climb onto some Greek roofs to have a little more privacy (which I certainly did).

As I said, I only spent a night in Athens so I wouldn't know all too much about it it.

That last picture is of that little restaurant which had the best calamari ever.

It's fantastic. I'd recommend some time on one or two islands and then some time in the Peloponnese. Nafplio is really nice for a few days.

If you have extra time and a car, do go to Meteora, this stunning collection of monasteries perched on these crazy rock spires. It's a long drive north from Athens though, and probably isn't something you can easily fit into a typical itinerary.

Skip Athens.

The food is simple but excellent.

I'm in my early 30's. Santorini is something we'd probably both enjoy. Corfu sounds fun if I went with my friends but probably not with my girl.

Reminds me of Game Of Thrones. Pretty awesome.

Thanks for all your help.

Is it worth it to rent a car at these islands?

Corfu you can still enjoy, but yeah, I'd say it'd be better with the boys. Ios is a party island as well, and it's quite small.

I'd say no, there's no need to rent a car. You can rent an ATV on both islands and drive them on the street - it's far more fun that way and you can go places a car can't. Plus, the islands are pretty small so it doesn't take you very long to go around them. Hell, we just took the bus in Santorini and that proved to be just fine...but yeah, and ATV for a day or two would be much better.
