Hot weather drains your energy, do you workout less in the summertime because of it? I don't even feel like TRAINING when the gym is too hot!

For me, summer is my favorite time to train! If anything, my workouts actually last a lot longer than during any other time of the year. If you have trouble wanting to workout, then try working out first thing in the morning.

well I work outside in scorching heat so what I do is stick to heavy strength training indoors during the hot months with just light conditioning and then I do a lot of conditioning/sports/strength maintenance during the winter months

and then at night on weekends of course I drink a few beers and play poker

Sports drink, and suck it up and train. The heat is good for the joints and helps warm-up the muscles.

Exactly.
Even if you are in the minority of people not lifting in air-conditioned gyms, I don't know why it should be a problem.

the heat never stops me because I live in England so it never gets that hot anyway, but I find I do usually train less in summer just because there always seems to be more stuff going on that fills your time, leaving less for working out.

Ask Daken. He take's a whole summer off because British summers are too hot to train.

I'm a lot busier in the summertime with yardwork and golf, so I definitely lift less.

I don't think I train less, but I can see why most people would. Sun's out, BBQ's, beer gardens, out on the swish with the lads, cheeky nando's, off down Barry Island munching on a 99, footie and rugby over the field.. things are just better when it's sunny. We get about 3 days of sunshine, so when it's out everyone shit's themselves.

Have you seen the price on a 99 lately? Scandalous

Damn. Flash beat me to it.

But no TS. I train more during the summer.

nope. I actually train more. Great weather and all that. If anything, I might workout less in the winter.

From a medical doctor, who also has a phd in physiology, and is one of the best powerlifters I've ever met.

Probably a steroid using powerlifter, that took a semester at the local community college and told you he had a phd in physiology.

I train more, I workout in the evenings and winter time I have to heat up the bar with a blowtorch, it makes for compact workouts.

In the summer I hang out with my weights more. We're buddies.

Back in my triathlon days is train a bit less in the summer because it was race season so I would sort of race, recover, race. Also it was about 105 during the summers where I was living so that out a damper on things. Either train at 4/5am or wait until 9-10pm to get workouts in.
