This. Tons of respect for Big Daddy and what he's done for the sport, but for the love of god he should never fight again.

    Never, I'm sure.

Crazy dude, very entertaining, and freakishly strong. You can find his fights against Oleg Taktarov and Amir Rahnavardi online. Some of the nastiest knockouts ever. Overall a real pioneer in the early days of the sport.

  9. That is not going to happen considering he has already written in his book that he is suffering from brain damage. He said his speech is slurring more, he forgets a lot of things and can't always remember where he is. Chances are things are going to get worse as he ages.

    Its terribly tragic.

The guys been knocked out in his last 21 fights or something crazy like that. The poor guy has dementia and a whole load of other problems and can't remember the previous day.

He has a fight putting his socks on in the morning. Gary is done... And he doesn't regret a thing

I feel so bad about GG, when he fought Frye and initially retired, that was too soon, and I hoped he'd fight again... but not that many times. hope he's ok.

he did a video interview i dont know, maybe a year ago... holy fuck did he sound terrible. I can't even remember the extent of his brain damage but he was talking about it a lot, and it's severe as shit. Sad to see it all go down like that for him. Even more sad is the fact that fighters use the whole "eating out a straw" line to intimidate and fans use it to clown on fighters, but Gary really will be eating out of a straw.

    That's fucked up.

If only the fighting discipline of armwrestling had included more defense...

This. That man should never fight again, for his health.

He aint ever going to fight again. Goodridge could never grasp the concept of using your hands and arms to block a punch. He took more unanswered shots than prolly anyone and for longer than prolly anyone would be willing too. His fight against Rizzo and Fedor come to mind as examples. He still had some memorable moments though. His KO of Oleg Taktarov (kinda like Marquez/Pac 4) and his KO of Paul Herrera are legendary.

He would never get sanctioned, if you're seriously asking.

If you know anything about dementia or have ever had a relative with it you wouldn't ask, and you would know the rest of his life will likely be a living hell (I hope otherwise, but dementia is incurable and consistently and constantly gets worse without exception).

I saw an interview with him recently, he didn't look that bad.

Hopefully never. I remember when he retired 10 years ago with his health and brains, to come out of retirement to get them knocked out. So sad.

His next fight would be 1 hour before he dies, I would imagine.

Which is not very funny, since it's much too close to true.
