Just got told by the doc a couple days ago that I have MRSA, I'm guessing I got it from BJJ but anyways he told me to pick up hibiclens and use it twice a day for a month. Any tips for making this go away fast or advice would be awesome.

What do you mean by draining exactly? All the places where I have it don't like have puss or anything in them? Also when it comes to things like pillows, would you recommend switching up pillowcases/pillows every night? I really appreciate the response cause I have myself all worked up and anxiousYes, I've had it and it fucking sucks. Throw away ANTHING you have that touched the infection, and follow the doctors' orders especially re: medication and cleaning the wound. It can live for a year or so in your gym clothes and you definitely don't want a repeat infection.
I took long warm baths with Epsom salts and had to drain it myself each night which hurt like a bitch. Shit sucks but you gotta work your way through it, don't cut corners.
Also, monitor it closely. If it gets worse don't hesitate to go back to the doctor; not every antibiotic is effective against it.

Would you recommend I go back to my doctor and see if he can give me more stuff? I really really appreciate the advice it's helping me relax big timeHad MRSA before, and it took forever to get rid of. Had to drain several boils due to MRSA in my armpit and leg.
Just stop rolling all together, and stay away from any type of dirt in the infected area. Take your meds EXACTLY the way they tell you too, and don't stop early if it seems to go away. Hipiclens is generally just given for basic staph too. It's a basic over the counter cleaner. Not sure why that's all he told you to do.
They should have given you some muripocen(?) to shove up your nose too
Luckily I don't believe any of the spots where the staph is are swollen so I think I'm good with that for now, thank you so much for all the advice, it's calming me down more than you can ever imagine.Well for me I had 2 distinct swollen areas on my leg. I would sit in the bath for about half an hour with the Epsom salts until my skin was soft, and then puncture the swollen areas with a razor and squeeze on the surrounding skin. No puss came out, just blood, and it hurt like a bitch because the skin is so sensitive already but that's what the doctor recommended. I feel as though it did help a little.
For elevation yeah I just used pillows. Shit takes awhile to go away you just gotta grind through it, good luck man.
I would. It's a very dangerous malady if not properly taken care of, and it doesn't hurt to ask for a second opinion. You don't want gaping holes in you, which could happen.Would you recommend I go back to my doctor and see if he can give me more stuff? Forgot about Bactrim. Unfortunately, I needed to go back and get more than that. You are lucky your immune system can kick it so easily.I had MRSA in my nose. Doc gave me 2 different pills. One was bactrim and I can't remember the other. It went away after 2 weeks. Good luck.

I'm prone to skin infections, so I get staph very easily. You should ask again, and see if they can give you something better.
If it makes you feel better, here's a story for you...
I found out I had MRSA when I had a boil dead smack in the middle of my butt cheek. It hurt bad & finally when it turned black, I went to the ER. So then a hot blonde nurse came in & had me drop my pants to inspect lol. Then a doctor & trainee came in & sliced my butt cheek open, drained the puss, told me to wash it with warm water & sent me on my way... Oh & i almost forgot. They did prescribe me antibiotics which they said to take exactly as prescribed.
Got a $1000 bill for that because I had no insurance. Last time I ever went to the fuckin ER
I had it, and turned out I was allergic to Bactrim. My body exploded with hives and caused vasculitis. It was a crazy hospital stayForgot about Bactrim. Unfortunately, I needed to go back and get more than that. You are lucky your immune system can kick it so easily.
