Anybody else find the Belfort interview on the front a bit ironic?

I find it pretty funny that Belfort is going on about how Mousasi needs to prove himself in the division and how he shouldn't be able to cut in line to try to get to the top, yet 3 fights ago he fought Jon jones for the title in a division he hasn't had a win in in years, seems like a bit of a kettle and pot situation to me .

He's just scared of him thats all. He knows Mousasi is a legit threat.

He was a replacement in that title fight, but either way it looks like Belfort doesn't want to fight Mousasi

They came to him when no one else wanted the fight, and he took it.

Machida said no, Shogun said no, Vitor stepped up.

Fail thread is fail.

Didn't Sonnen agree to the fight originally and Jones declined? And then ended up fighting Sonnen in his next fight anyways..

Sorta comparing apples to oranges aren't we? Belfort only got that shot because the UFC asked him to do it when bones passed on chael, and machida and shogun passed on jones for 151 on short notice.

Team Jackson thought it was too little time to prep, and insinuated that Sonnen and Hendo were in collusion.

No .. Sonnen stepped up to save UFC 151, Jones declined.

Then after they scratched that card, they went asking LHWs at the time, Machida said no, Shogun said no, Vitor took it at UFC 152, which is real short notice for a title fight.

Jones then fought Sonnen at 159.

I think it's important to note that Vitor states he doesn't choose opponents, he accepts fights. It does seem odd he is so adamant about not fighting mousasi

Seems to me Vitor had another opportunity to fight Mousasi also and passed on it as well in Affliction.

High risk, low reward fight for Vitor. I don't blame him for being hesitant about it especially at this point of his career.

What did Vitor do to deserve his shot at Silva?

The way I see it, Mousasi isn't a huge name, yet a dangerous opponent. Bad combination for Vitor, so he doesn't want any part of it..

It could also be argued that Vitor didn't "earn" his shot at Anderson Silva... he leapfrogged past the rest of the MW division without ever fighting as a UFC Middleweight.

Let's not forget that he got his title shot at MW after being 0-0 at 185 in the UFC.

Vitor has been avoiding a fight with Mousasi for 5 years. On the other hand, Gregard is calling him out.
I wonder why?

Mousasi was going to fight Gustaffason so why can't he fight Belfort?

Does Belfort think he is much better than Gustaffaon?
