I realize that everybody usually loves a finish but does anybody here ever feel disappointed whenever a 5 round main event doesn't actually go 5 rounds? I mean finishes are great but I also like watching grueling, entertaining back and forth fights as well.
I don't exactly mind when GOOD main events go 5 rounds...but when you get two dudes in the main event that either cage lean or LnP then 5 rounds suddenly feels like an eternity and get you begging for a finish.
Not when they go a couple and end with stanky legs and big KO's The only one I felt jipped on was maybe Cain v JDS, it was like awe this is gonna be good, awe here we go, awe wtf it's over already.
Unless the fight is a five-round war, I don't mind a good three-round main event as long as it delivers, preferably with a finish.
Lets put it this way, I would rather watch JDS vs Cain, than Guida vs Maynard. I do not mind fights that go the distance though, finishes arnt the end all be all.
Only thing I enjoyed about Maynard / Guida was how much of a BAMF Maynard was. I'd watch this part all day.
