I know that Stephen trains at his fathers Karate/kickboxing gym but are there any fighters currently who have their own dojo and train in it when there is a fight lined up for them?

The last person I remember was Matt Serra. That and I remember Gokor Chivichyan used to fight MMA to promote his Hayastan Judo/grappling style and that he had students like Karo Parisyan and Manny Gamburyan to further promote the school

I assume that this was the main motive of martial artist that fought in the old days, I mean there was no money in the MMA/combat sports and so non-boxing fighters I assumed fought as a way to promote and market their school and their style.

Are their any fighters still doing this?

I think Rothwell has his own gym where he teaches.

Machida still regularly trains with his dad as well I think.

Two UFC guys train at the facility I train in until they head off to their camps before fights.

Brock had his entire gym/camps built entirely for him. Yea there were others that fought there, but realistically it was all Brocks.
