Any tips for a Muay thai guy sparring against boxers

Well the OP has crosstrained pure boxing too.. But it still doesn't help against guys who do boxing only.

This is I why I don't think cross training is as important for SD as a people think. If I crosstrain jujitsu, I will still get choked out by a jujitsu specialist on the ground.

My advice is very simple, but of the most importance, when sparring boxers in boxing rules.

Don't kick. They get a bit shirty about that.
LOL that's why the superman punch worked! They were sure I was going for a leg kick and panicked

They were sure you were gonna leg kick????
Yeah they know I train MT and I joked that I might throw a kick out if habit. soooo... I faked a low kick and threw the punch

It felt like a hard jab when I got tagged with it in the tempel.:D concidering the effort put into it, that's a bad sign.

To be honest. It just felt good to pull it off. I definitely wasn't a power shot. Just a showboating move.

This has happened before. I remember years back drilling hands with a training partner, and when I got jabbed I shot a leg kick out on instinct since its been ingrained. That was funny

Ha... I've had the same problem a few times. In TKD I often had to restrain my self from throwing a low. But I still I grab a leg every now and then. And I still use the shin check for their kicks. (That one I do on purpose, since the trainer doesn't mind).
And a few times a did boxing, a often went for a Thai plum...

I remember first sparring session at the boxing gym. Finally got to throw sweeping/hook punches.. Roundhouse punch of the jab... <Moves>

So fucking liberating

@never enough Do this all day. Try not to have a table in front of you though. I still do it to keep my baby sharp. Hopefully doesn't induce bad habits

Your jab should be a pistol!

But you can anticipate it.

Meh, a specialist will still choke me out in a mount position. It would take 2 minutes instead of 30 seconds.Training takedown defence is the only sensible thing IMO
