Any Such Thing as a Good Cult

    Always hear the word Cult used in a negetive way like Jim Jones and the Serects Organizations or something but can there be Good Cult that people can join and Not be ashamed to say they are part of a Cult and not have to use other words instead of Cult.

    So long as the individual is better off than before, I do believe in a beneficial cult.

    Even distancing someone from their family could potentially be an improvement depending on the level of dysfunction.

    Of course, this all depends on what definition of “cult” you are using.

    If we are going with the destructive definition; then it is going to be a lot more difficult to justify because “participation” becomes much less voluntary in nature and emotional/physical well-being are likely highly compromised at that point.
