Anyone know any successful short stocky thai fighthers other then coban?
I'd say GSP, Benson, Aldo, and Faber. All of these guys are pretty average to short height compared to a lot of the other guys in the division. They aren't too stocky, but they're far from lanky like Jones or Silva. I just think that no one ever talks about that.
Rogan always says that a tall lanky body type if best for MMA, but then what would that make these guys? Something I've always thought about.
Edit. Lol shit my bad. Thought I read MMA.
Mark Hunt - K-1
Wait... you mean Thai Boxers? Or Thai People?
Saenchai and Yodsanklai are compact and thick...
In MMA there are many explosive MT-based strikers who fall more into the stocky category rather than the lanky. In K-1 too.
Saenchai's not bad for a short stocky guy
Lukhai or Laakhai is now past his prime.
Rambojew was pretty entertaining to watch. His fight against Imro Main comes to mind.
Damn how is this guy?
Mark hunt is neither.
Saenchai, Yodsaenklai, Rungravee, Thepnimit Sitmonchai, Pentai Singpatong.
Most thais fighting internationally will be shorter and stockier than their opponents as they're often coming up in weight eg Yod, Saiyok, Aekpracha etc all only 5'.7ish fighting at 70-72kg.
He still fights once in a long while, but his body has taken tremendous beatings the last 10 years.
Is he 4ft? His head isnt even leveled with the top ropes.
Thepnimit is one bad mofo...that uppercut!
Yodsaenklai and Bovy sor Udomson.
